First I will and order that my debts and funeral Charges be paid & discharged
Item I give and devise unto my daughter Mary the now Wife of Stephen Marsh of All that my Messuage or Tenement situate and
being in the Street called Goulstone in Folkestone aforesaid adjoining to the Messuage of Thomas Emptage which my said Son in
Law Stephen Marsh now dwells in with the Backside and all and every the Appurt[enance]s thereunto belonging or appertaining to her
and her Heirs of her Body lawfully begotten forever, She paying the Sum of Five pounds towards the discharge of a Bond of Ten pounds
which I owe unto Thos. Holmes
Item whereas I formerly gave leave unto my said Son in Law Stephen Marsh to build a House or Tenement on a piece or parcel of Land of mine lying between the above mentioned Tenement and another hereafter devised which is now in the said Stephen Marsh’s Occupation I now hereby give and devise the said peice or parcel of Land lying as aforesaid down from the Street called Gulston’s to the running Water called the Pent unto my said Daughter Mary and her Heirs forever
Item I give and bequeath unto my said Daughter Mary two Fare of Herring nets and Twenty Mackarel Nets with the Ropes and Barrels answerable to them
Item I give and devise unto my Two grandsons William and Thomas Mummery All that my Messuage or Tenement situate in Gulstone aforesaid adjoyning to a Tenement of John Elgar the Elder and now in the tenure or Occupation of James Godden the Younger with the Backside and all and every the Appurten[an]ces thereunto belonging or appurtaining to them or their Heirs of their Bodies lawfully begotten or to be begotten forever they paying thereout the Sum of Five pounds towards the discharge of the said Ten pounds due upon Bond as abovesaid to Thomas Holmes within Six months after my decease
And my Will is that if either of my said Grandsons (die) without Heirs of his Body that then the Survivor shall possess and enjoy
the said Tenement with the Appurtences to him and his Heirs forever, paying the Five pounds as aforesaid
And if both my said Grandsons should die without Heirs as abovesaid; Then I will and devise the said Messuage with all
& singular Appurtences unto my said daughter Mary and her Heirs forever, She paying the whole Ten pounds upon Bond as aforesaid
Item I give and bequeath unto my said Grandson William Mummery Four Fare of Herring Nerts and Twenty Mackarell Nets and my Sprat
Net together with Ropes and Barrells answerable to them
Also I give him my best bed, bedstedle etc. ready furnisht [furnished] with Sheets and all other things appurtaining as it standeth
usually
Item I give unto my said Grandson William Mummery my Silver Cup and the Least Copper standing in One of my said Tenem[en]ts
Item I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Thomas Mummery One fare of Herring Nets and Eight Mackarel Nets with Ropes and Barrels
answerable
Also I give unto the said Thomas Mummery the Bed & Bedstedle which now standeth in the Garret of the said House I now live in with
all to it as it standeth usually
Item I give unto my Grandson Thomas Marsh half a Fare of Herring Nets and one mackarel net all which nets are to be had and
received as I leave them at my death with the Ropes and Barrells answerable
Item I give and bequeath unto my Granddaughter Sarah the now Wife of Roger Harvey my Second Bed and Bedstedle ready furnisht
with Sheets and all other things as it standeth usually
In Witness whereof I the said William Hall to this my Last Will and Testament being contained in
two Sheets of paper have set my Hand to the First and Hand and Seal to the Second or last, this First
day of December in the Sixth year of the Reign of King George over Great Britain Anno dini 1719

Notes:
Entry in the Quaker burial register: 'William Hall of Folkestone departed this life the 3rd of the 10th month 1719 and was buryed
in Friends Burying Place in Folkestone the 6th of the same month aged 77 years almost.
Some of his children's births in the 1660s and 70s are recorded in the Folkestone Society of Friends' birth register.
