best Cobbard.
It[e]m I give and bequethe to Richard Deye, sonne of my dawghter Agnes Deye, my
Square Joyned table.
It[e]m I give and bequethe to Katherine Earell my goddawghter my beste hatt,
Alsoe one pewter platter, one pewter dysshe, one Sawser and one porringer and my beste
petycoate.
The Residwe of all my goodes, debtes and Chattelles whatsoever not in this p[rese]nte Testament geven, willed nor bequethed, my debttes beinge firste paide, Legacies fullfilled and funerall expences discharged, I give, will and bequethe Equallye to be devydid betweene my sonne John Rucke and my sonne in lawe Symond Deye, the which said Symon Dey I ordeyne and make my Executo[ur], to doe, performe and fullfill all and everye thinge and thinges in this my present Testament and last will conteyned, accordinge to my verie will and meanyinge, And thus I conclude and fynishe this my p[rese]nte Testament.

[The present above-written will was proved on the first day of April 1584 before Master
Richard Fletcher, clerk, Vicar of Cranbrook, deputy of the worshipful Master Stephen Lakes,
Doctor of Laws, Official of the Reverend Lord Archdeacon of Canterbury, by the oaths of
William Hilles and Lawrence Weller, witnesses etc.
The burden [of execution] was committed to Simon Daye, the executor, he having been
first sworn etc.]
