In the Name of God Amen the Fifth and Twentieth day of Februarye in the Fifteenth yeere of the Raigne of our Sovereign Lord King Charles And in the yeere of our Lord Christ 1639
I Robert Hamon of the parish of Northbourne in the County of Kent Yeoman being sicke in body but of good and p[er]fect minde and memory (God I give him thankes for it) doe therefore make and ordaine this my last will and Testam[en]t in manner and form following
First I bequeath my Sowle unto God hopeing through the merritts of Jesus Christ to bee saved And my body to the earth from whence it came to bee decently buried in the p[ar]ish church yarde of Northbourne aforesaid att the discrecon of my Executrix heerafter named

Item I give to the poore people of the Burrowe [Borough] of Finglesham where I now live xxs to bee paid to them within 14th dayes next after my decease att the discrecon of my Executrix
Item I will and bequeath unto my Eldest daughter Susan Hamon one hundred pounds of good and lawfull money of England to bee paid her by my Executrix on the day of her Marriage or her age of Twenty yeeres which it shall please God to bee first
Item I give and bequeath unto my youngest daughter Margarett Hamon one hundred pounds of good and lawfull English money to bee paid her by my Executrix on the day of her Marriage or her age of Twenty yeeres which it shall please God to Come first

and my minde and will is that if eyther of my said two daughters doe dye and depart this life before the day of her Marriage of the age of Twenty yeeres then my minde and will is that the Survivor shalbe her Sisters heire
But if it shall please God that both my said daughters doe dye and depart this life before their dayes of Marriage of their Ages of Twenty yeeres then my minde and will is that the said Two hundred pounds given to my two daughters shalbee equally devided amongst my three sonnes vidt. Richard, William and Robert Hamon if it shall please God they doe all live or amongst soe many of them as it shall please God to lett live

Item I will and bequeath to my sonne William Hamon Two hundred pounds of good and lawfull money of England to bee paid to him by my Executrix att the age of one and Twenty yeeres
And my mind and will is that if it shall please God that my said sonne William doe dye and dep[ar]t this life before the age of One and Twenty yeeres Then my minde and will is that the said two hundred pounds shall remaine and be equally devided betweene my other two sonnes Richard and Robt. Hamon

Item I give will and bequeath to my Eldest sonne Richard Hamon all that my Messuage and Lands with Thappurtences [the appurtenances] Conteyneing by Estimacon threescore and Eight acres of Land bee their more or lesse lyeing and being in the parishes of Hearnehill and Boughton to him and his heires and assignes for Ever which Messuage and Lands I late purchased of Mr. Edward Johnson

Item I give will and bequeath to My youngest sonne Robert Hamon all that my Messuage and Lands with their appurt[ena]nces Sett lying being in the Parish of Hearnhill aforesaid Conteyneing by Estimacon Nineteene acres of Land more or lesse which Messuage and Lands my owne father gave unto mee by deede att the tyme of my Marriage for him and Fatthers heires and assignes for Ever

Provided alwaies and minde and will is that my Executrix shall have the profit use and benefit of all and singuler the Legacies given unto my two daughters and my Sonne William untill such tyme and tymes as they shall come to their severall and respective tymes and ages before limitted and appoynted
And likewise the use benifitt and p[ro]fitt of all the Messuages and Lands given unto my two sonnes Richard and Robert Hamon untill they shall accomplish their sevrall ages of one and Twenty yeares for their keepeinge educacon & bringingupp shee Comitting noe wast and keepeing all the buildings and fences from tyme to tyme and all tymes in good and sufficient repaires

Provided Likewise if it shall soe please God that my Executrix doe dye and depart this life before such tyme and tymes as all my said sonnes and daughters shall accomplish their sevrall and respective times and ages before limitted for the receivinge of their porcons then I ordaine and make my eldest sonne Richard Hamon Executor of this my last will and Testament hee paying my legacyes and p[er]formeing this my will in all respects as his mother my Executrix should have done if hee had lived

The Residue of all my Moveable goods not bequeathed I will and bequeath to Sara my Loveing wife whome I ordaine and make sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testam[en]t shee proveing this my said will by Sentence in the Ecclesiasticall Court of Canterbury

Provided alsoe and my mind and will is that if my Executrix shall bee minded to Mary [marry] againe before which tyme my will is that shee enter into a bond of 500L to my very good Freind Thomas Rogers of the Parish of Ham, my loveing Cozin John Paramore of the Towne and Port of Sandwich & my Loveing Brother William Hamon of Sandwich aforesaid for the true p[er]formeinge of this my Last will and Testam[en]t

And I ordaine and make the said Thomas Rogers, John Paramore and William Jhonson (sic) overseers of this my last will and Testam[en]t desireing them to bee helpeing and assisting with their best advice and Counsell to my wife and Children as they would should bee don unto their soome Children in like Case And I give and bequeath to each of them Forty shillings apeece

Note: Robert Hamon was buried at St. Augustine, Northbourne on 27th February 1639/40.
