Imprimis I give and devise unto my son Christopher Harris All that my Messuage or tenement (wherein I
now dwell) with the Maulthouse barnes stables outhouses closes yards gardens and lands thereunto
belonging with their apurt�nces containing six acres more or less which I formerly purchased of the heirs of Thomas Harris
And also all those two peeces or parcells of land thereunto adjoyning with thapurt�nces containing five
acres more or less which I formerly purchased of the heirs of John Clapson dece�d late in the occupation
of John How & John Weeks and now in my own occupacon
And alsoe all that my Messuage or tenement maulthouse outhouses closes gardens orchards and lands
thereunto belonging or therewith used with thapurt�nces containing by estimacon tenn acres more or
less scituate and being att or neer a certaine place there comonly called Rockey Hill in the Burrough of
Westree in Maidstone aforesaid and now in my occupacon and of ___ Tharpe and ___ Cheesman or their ass.
To have and to hold the said Messuages lands tenements hereditaments and premisses and
every part and parcell thereof with their apurt�nces unto my said son Christopher Harris his heirs and
assigns Hee and they paying the Mortgages wherewith the p�misses stand charged
And also he and they paying and dischargeing all my just Debts as I shall owe att the time of my decease and the Legacyes hereby given.
Item I give unto my son John Harris all those my two Messuages or tentements with the yards gardens and outhouses thereunto belonging with thappurt�nces scituate and being in the town of Maidstone aforesaid behind the Middle Row there and now or late in the occupacon of the said John Harris and Mary Joy widdow And all my Estate right title interest terme of years to come claime and demand whatsoever of in and to the same To and for such uses intents and purposes as are limitted menconed and expresses in his marriage settlement by me made.
Item I give unto my said son John Harris and to his two children Twenty shillings a peece
Item I doe hereby give and forgive unto my said son John Harris all rent and other demands oweing to me by him att the time of my decease
Item I give to my daughter Elizabeth now wife of William Smyth and to her two children twenty shillings a peece
And my mind and will is that my said son Christopher Harris with the approbation of my Overseer
hereafter named shall putt and place out at Interest within the space of Two years after my decease the
sum of Two hundred pounds of lawfull money of Great Brittain on such good securety as my said
Overseer shall think fitt of To the intent and purpose that the Interest and profitt thereof shall be paid
and employed for the seperate use maintainance and benefitt of my said Daughter Elizabeth Smyth for
and during her life and not for her husband to intermeddle or be concerned therewith
And what receipts she shall give for the same to be valid in law against him
And from and after her decease my will and meaning is and I do give the said Two hundred pounds with
the Interest and benefitt thereof to her two sons Edward & William now liveing equally to be divided
between them And I do give the same sum accordingly
And my mind and will is that my Exec�r or overseer shall not be liable to answer for any loss or damage which shall or may be susteyned by their or either of their putting or placeing out the said sum but shall and may discount and reimburse themselves such reasonable charges and expences as they shall sustaine and be put unto for or in respect of the same.
Item I give to my son Walter Harris and to his children Joseph & Hannah twenty shillings a peece
And my mind and will farther is that my said son Christopher Harris shall at his own charges Educate
bring up and maintaine the said Hannah Harris untill she shall attaine the age of one and twenty years or be married
And when she shall attaine the age of one and twenty years or be married with the consent and
approbation of my said son Christopher I will and do give unto her the sum of fourscore pounds of lawfull money of Great Brittaine
Item I give to my son in law George Apsley and Mary his wife and to Elizabeth their daughter Twenty shillings a peece
Item I give to my cousin Ann Fullagar now wife of Christopher Fullagar one broad peece of gold
Item I give to Mary Evens my maidservant two Guineas if she shall be living with me at the time of my decease
Item all the rest and residue of my Goods Chattells Leases Stock in trade money Debts and personall Estate whatsoever and wheresoever not before herein by this my will given or bequeathed (my Debts and legacys in the first place being duly paid and satisfied) I do hereby give and bequeath unto my said son Christopher Harris
Provided always and my mind and will farther is that in case my personall Estate shall not be sufficient
to pay such Debts as I shall owe at the time of my decease and the Legacys hereby given That then and
in such case I will that my Executor with the consent of my Overseer hereinafter named shall sell all or
so much of my Messuages Lands Tenem�ts and hereditaments as I shall dye possessed of as shall be
sufficient to pay and discharge all my said just Debts and Legacys hereby given.
And I do give and devise my said Messuages Lands and Tenements accordingly any thing before herein
contained to the contrary notwithstanding
And I do hereby make and ordaine my said son Christopher Harris sole and whole Executor of this my last Will and Testament
And I do hereby constitute and appoint my said kinsman Christopher Fullagar of Maidstone aforesaid
Gent. Overseer of this my Will desireing him to be aiding and assisting my said Exec�r in the execution thereof
And as a token for his pains and care therein I give unto him Two Guineas of Gold
And I do hereby revoke and make void all former and other Wills by me heretofore made
And in testimony thereof to this my last Will and Testament written and contained in two sheets of paper I
have to the first of the said sheets subscribed my name And to the second and last sheet thereof I have
set my hand and seale the day & yeare first above written
