In the Name of God Amen Seeinge that nothinge is more certaine than death, nor nothinge more uncertaine than when wee shall depart out of this wretched world therefore
I Alexander Hearte of the parish of Pluckly in the County of Kent Yeoman doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme followinge;
Revokeing and utterly disannulling all former Wills and Testaments by me made I nowe being well of Body and perfect in memory (God be praysed therefore)
First and principally I commend my Soule into the hands of Almighty God my Creator, to Jesus Christ my Redeemer, Who dyed for my sinnes and arose againe for my Justification And to the holy Ghost the sanctifier, beinge three persons in Trinity and one in unity In the which faith I steadfastly being grounded and firmely beleiveinge, hope to have eternall life; My body I commend and Comitt to the earth to be buried in decent sepulture in the Parish Churchyard of Plucklie aforesaid by my Executrix hereafter named And as for my Temporall Estate of goods and Chattells I bequeath and give them as followeth

Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonne Henery Henry Hart [as written] Twentie pounds of currant lawfull English money in manner and forme followinge (That is to say) Tenn pounds thereof within Twelve monthes next after my decease And the other Tenn pounds within two yeares next after my decease to be paid by my Executrix hereafter named, or by her Executors Administrators or Assignes

Item I give and bequeath unto my said sonne Henry my house with the materialls to bee delivered unto him, presently after my wives decease Alsoe, I give and bequeath unto my said sonne Henry one Bedstead, and one featherbedd with the furniture thereunto belonginge, standing in the parlour Chamber; Two payre of Sheees, halfe a douzen of Table Napkins, halfe a dozen of pewter, and one brasse pott

All the residue of my moveable goods, Corne, Cattell, Chattells, household stuffe and implements of husbandry I give and bequeath unto Katherine my loveing wife whom I ordaine and make my sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament Shee to receive my debts and paying debts and legacies, As alsoe to pay my funerall expences and to see my Body decently buried

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale Dated the seaven and twentieth day of July in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand sixe hundred Fiftie and three

This will was proved att London the thirteenth day of February in the yeare of our Lord God (English stile [style]) One thousand six hundred Fiftie and fower [1654/5] Before the Judges for Probate of Wills and granting of Administrations lawfully authorized By the Oath of Katherine Harte the relict and sole Executrix named in the said Will; To whom Administration of all and singular the Goods, Chattells and Debts of the said Deceased was Committed, Shee being first (by Commission) legally sworne truely to Administer the same.

Henry Hart, s. of Alexander, was christened 27th February 1624/5 at St. Nicholas, Pluckley.
Alexander Harte married Anne Catsby 28th April 1624 at Pluckley.
