Item I give and bequeath unto my five sonnes William Matthew John Frances and Thomas and to each of them the summe of fourty pounds of lawfull mony of England to be paid on to them and each of them when they shall severally and respectively attaine the age of one and twenty yeares and my will and mind is that if any of my five said sons shall happen to dye before they shall attaine unto the age of one and twenty yeares that then the portion or summe of mony being hereby given or bequeathed to him or them so dying shal be equally proportionally divided betweene Mary my loving wife and those of my said sons surviving and all the rest of my goods and chattells whatsoever (my debts legacyes and funerall expences being fully paid and discharged) I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Mary for and toward the education of my children
And I hereby make and ordeine my said loving wife Mary full and sole executrix of this my last
will and testament and I hereby make and ordaine my loving friends Stephen Stringer? and Edward
Stringer overseers of this my present last will and testament desiring their care To see the
same carefully performed and for their paines ..... onto them five? shillings apeece.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand seale? on the day and yeare first above written
William Hartnupp Read published and declared and sealed signed and delivered up as the last
will and testament of the said William Hartnupp in the presence of
Ann AB Baylis her marke megs? Johonna? Streater scrivener.
This will was proved at London the seven and twentieth day of October one thousand six hundred fifty eight before the Judges for probate of wills and granting Administrations lawfully authorized by the oath of Mary Hartnupp the relict and Executrix to whom was committed Administration shee being sworne truly to Administer.
