In the Name of God Amen On the two and Twentieth day of Aprill in the yeare of our Lord God one Thousand six hundred eighty and six and in the second yeare of the Reigne of our most gratious Soveraigne Lord James the second by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc.
I John Hartrupp of Kempsing in the County of Kent yeoman being weake in Body but in good and perfect memory praysed be doe make and declare this to bee my present Testament and last Will in manner following (that is to say)
First and principally before all Earthly things I doe commend my Soul into the hands of Allmighty God my maker and therefore in an assured hope and confidence that through the merritts and mediacon of the Lord Jesus my most blessed Lord and Saviour ... have the pardon and remission of all my sinns and I doe commit my Body to the Earth to be buried according to the discretion of my Executrix hereafter in this presence named. And touching my estate of what nature soever I doe where? Will give and dispose of the same in manner following

Item I doe give unto my sonne William Hartrupp and to his Heires for ever presently after the Death of his Mother all the House and Land which was left me by my father? John Hartrupp deceased which he bought of Robert Kipps called by the Name of .... and lying in Kempsing paying to his Brother Thomas Hartrupp the sume of ...teen pounds of good and lawfull money of England when he shall be possessed of the said house and land.

Item I doe give and bequeath unto my sonne John Hartrupp & to his heires for ever presently after the Death of his Mother all the House and Land which was left me by my father deceased and hee purchased of William Kempe being in Kempsing paying out of it to his brother Thomas Hartrupp the sume of twelve? pounds of good and lawfull money of England when he shall be possessed of the house and land.

And whereas I am now possessed of severall goods moneys chattels and cattles of severall natures and kinds my will and mind is that Anne Hartrupp my loveing Wife from and after my debts and funerall expences paid shall have the use issues and profitts of the same goods money cattles and chattles for and during the terme of her life for and towards her maintainance and the bringing upp of my children.

Allsoe my will and mind is that imediatly after the decease of my wife the afore mentioned goods money cattells and chattells shall bee equally divided between my five Daughters (that is to say) Elizabeth, Sarah, Anne, Mary and Margarett

and my Will is that my wife shall receive the Rent of my houses for her owne until my said? sonnes shall come to have them

And I doe hereby make and ordaine the said Anne my loveing wife to bee the full and sole Executrix of this my present Testament and last Will in trust and confidence that shee will take speciall care for the due Execution and ... thereof accordingly.

In witness whereof I the said John Hartrupp have hereunto this my present Testament and last Will putt my hand and seal the day and yeare first above written.

Before the reading and sealing of this will these Words were ... betweene the Thirteenth and fourteenth lynes (presently after the death of the Mother) likewise these words betweene the fifteenth and sixteenth lyne (be possessed of the house and land) likewise these words betweene the seventeenth and eighteenth lynes (presently after the death of the Mother) likewise these words betweene the twentie and twenty first lyne (be possessed of the house and land)
