In the name of God Amen The Eight and twentieth daye of July Ann dini 1636
I William Hatcher of the p[ar]ish of Eastry in the countie of Kent Husbandman being sicke in body but of good remembrance (thankes be to God) doe make and ordayne my last will and testament in manner followinge, Vidlt.
First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almightie God hoping to be saved onely by the meritts of Jesus Christ, and my bodye to be buryed at the discretion of my Executor heereafter named

Item I will and bequeath unto Mary Hatcher my eldest daughter Five pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her att the end of one yeare after my decease
Item I give unto Susan Hatcher my daughter Five pounds of like lawfull money to be paid att the end of two yeares after my decease
Item I give unto Elizabeth Hatcher my daughter Five pounds of like lawfull money to be paid att the end of three yeares after my decease
Item I give unto Margarett Hatcher my daughter Five pounds of like lawfull money to be paid att the end of Fower yeares after my decease
And if any of my said daughters doe decease this life before the said Legacy of Five pounds be due unto them as abovesaid, Unmaryed That then my minde & will is the said Legacye or Legacies shalbe paid to the Survivors of Survivor of them

Item I give unto my sonne in law William Rogers Five shillings to be paid twoe moneths after my decease, and my minde is hee shall enjoy the goods wch I gave him att or since his mariage wth my daughter
Item I give unto my grandchild Anne Rogers twentie shillings to be paid unto her at her age of twentie yeares

Item I give unto my sonne Thomas Hatcher all my moveable goods chattells cattell and Leases whatsoever payeing my funerall chargs debts and Legacies And I make & ordayne my said sonne Thomas Hatcher my sole Executor of this my last will and Testament

The last will and testament of me the said William Hatcher touchinge my lands & tenements

Item I will & bequeath unto my sonne Thomas Hatcher my tenements & lands wth th’appurtenncs [the appurtenances] lyeing in the p[ar]ish of Eastry and in the towne and port of Sandwich to him and his heires for ever Uppon condicon that the said Thomas Hatcher or his heires doe pay my debts & legacies abovesaid

In Witnes whereof I have heereunto sett my hand and seale in the pr[e]sence of these whose names are heereunder written
William Osborne; John Hatcher his mke; Wm. Kingsland

Probatum fuit: 1st September 1636

Note: 9th August 1636 buried William Hatcher, housekeeper, at St. Mary the Virgin, Eastry, Kent.
