In the name of God Amen The xjth [11th] daye of Octobar In the yeer of oure Lorde God a Thowsande fyve hundreth fyfty Eight
I Jhon Hawker of Chalocke in the countye of Kent beinge sycke in bodye but of good and parfyte [perfect] Remembrannce thankes be gyven to God ordaine and make thys my p[re]sente Testamente and Laste will in manner and Fourme followinge
Fyrste I bequeth my sowle to Almightye God my maker and Redemer to or blessyd Ladye Sainte Mary and to all the holye companye of heavyn and my bodye to be buryed in the churche of Challocke aforesayd

Also I wyll and bequeth towards the byenge of a Challys for the same churche three shillinges Fowar pence
Also I will to be bestowed to prestes, clarkes and poore people att my buryall, monnythes daye and yeers mynde accordinge to the discression of myne executor

Also I will and bequeth to Mary Hawker my wyffe all my apparell all suche monnye as she hath in her kepinge excepte one duble duckett [double ducat] wch I wyll and bequeth to myne executors
Also I gyve and bequeth to the sayd Mary my wyffe the bedd that she lyeth on with the covrlett and all other thinges partayninge to yt wth the cubbarde in the same chamber duringe her naturall Lyffe and after her decease I wyll and bequeth them to myne executor And I will and bequeth to the sayd Marye Syxe payeer of Sheetes, v sylver spones & three chestes

Also I will and bequeth to Androwe Hawker my sonne the chest that my evydence Lyeth in, a Lyttle brasse pott, a Lyttle brasse panne, and Syxe poundes, thyrtene shillinges, Fowar pence in ready monny to be payd to hym by myne executor wthin xij monnethes next after my decease
Also I will and bequeth to Alys Hawker my daughter Thirtye one poundes, thyrtene shyllinges Fower pence whereof the Tenne pounds that whiche her Awnte Alys Twyssden gave unto her shalbe conytyd [counted] as parte and p[ar]sell of the sayd one and Thirtye pounds, Thyrtene shillinges, Fowar pence, the one halffe thereof to be payd unto her wthin halffe a yeer after my decease and the other hyalffe at the daye of her maryage
Also I will and bequeth to Thomasyn Terrye? my sonnes sarvannte Syxe shillings Eight pence

The Resydewe of my moveable goodes not bequethed my detes and Legacyes fyrste payd, I gyve and bequeth to my sonne Alexannder Hawker whome I make my solle Executor of thys my Laste will and testament
I do make Thomas Twyssden myne overseer and he to have for his Labor Syxe shillinges Eight pence

Thys is the last wille of me the sayd John Hawker made and declared the daye and yeer above wrytten as concerninge my Landes and Tenementes

Fyrste I will and gyve to Allexander Hawker my sonne immediatelye after my decease all those Landes and tenementes whiche discendyd unto me and my bretherne by the Laste Wyll of Androwe Hawker my grandfather to be hadd to the sayd Alexander and hys heires for ever,
payinge unto Mary Hawker my wyffe Fyve poundes, Sixe shillings, Eight pence yeerly duringe her naturall Lyffe wch Landes and tenementes to this assured all redye [already] by dede thereof made

Also I will and bequeth unto the sayd Allexander my sonne a tenement caulyd [called] thyttes & an orther callydd the new garden sett, Lyenge and beinge in the parishe of Challocke aforesayd wch Late was Ryc Partreys some tyme of Challocke to be had to him and hys heires for ever

Also I gyve and bequeth unto Androwe Hawker my sonne immediatly after my decease The Resydew of all my Lands, Tenementes, Woodd and woodlands wch I purchasyd to be hadd to the sayd Androwe and hys heires for ever

Wytnesse at the makinge and declaringe of thys my Laste will and Testamente
Thomas Tyllman of Wye; Nicolas Snode and Thomas Mayes of Challocke

Notes:
John Hawker was buried at SS Cosmos & Damian, Challock, Kent on 14th Oct 1558.
Mary Hawker was buried 28th April 1565? at Challock.
Son Alexander Hawker married Dennyce Farbrace on 1st June 1590 at Challock.
