IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Mary Hendley widow of the late Bowyer Hendley of Otham in Kent Esquire being at a present sound mind and memory tho now but in a weak bodily health DO make this my last will and testament. FIRST I resign my Soul into the hands of God and my body to be buried in Otham aforesaid in the place I shall appoint to my Executor for that purpose and my worldly concerns I order and dispose of hereinafter follows.

I will give and bequeath to my son William Hendley now living in Gore Court in Otham Thirteen Bonds for the use of himself and his children
three hundred pounds to my grand daughter Mary Hendley
and three hundred pounds Priscilla Hendley
and what remains of those Bonds over and above those two legacies to be divided amongst the rest of his children being daughters.

Then I will give and bequeath to the children of my Daughter Horn now living in Otham the sum of five hundred pounds being now in the South Sea New Annuities to be equally divided among them.

Then I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Taylor widow the sum of fifty pounds.
Then I give to my daughter Mary Hendley also the sum of fifty pounds
also to my son William Hendley and to his wife forty pounds for mourning
and to my son in law Samuel Horn and daughter Horn thirty pounds for their mourning.
Then I give and bequeath to my kinswoman Abigail Betts widow now living in Otham the sum of twenty five pounds.
Then I give to the poor of Otham Parish five pounds.

AND LASTLY I name and appoint my son William Hendley of Gore Court in Otham Executor of this my last will desiring him to fulfil my several requests in it and hereunto I have put my hand and Seal this 15th day of April 1743- Mary Hendley-

To Prevent any future dispute that may be about words not so clearly expressed in my last will that is dated the 15th April 1743, I Mary Hendley of Otham the County of Kent widow do add this codicil to the said will hereby appointing my son William Hendley of Gore Court in Otham my Sole heir to every property I have in any thing this world that I have not given and bequeathed before in the body of my said last will and testament hereof. I have here again set my hand and seal- Mary Hendley- Signed Sealed and delivered the 2nd day ... 1743 and of the Reign of King George the 2nd the Sixteenth in presence of us witnesses

Proved at London with a codicil the 1st day of January 1753. Before the worshipful Robert Chapman Dr of Laws and Surrogate by the Oath of William Hendley Esq the son and Sole Executor to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn duly to administrator
