In the name of God Amen The Twentie daye of Maye In the yere of or Lord God A thousande fyve hundreth fyftie and three And in the first yere of the reigne of Quene Mary the first
I Peter Heyman of Sellynge next Smethe in the Countie of Kent gent[leman] make this my testament and Last will in maner and forme folowing
First I comend my Soule to Almightie God and to his infinite m[e]rcye

Item I will that all my debts which I owe to be paid by my Executours And also all that which I justly owe or to any have offendyd to be recompensed to the uttermost
Item I bequeathe to goddes Chest or Chests to the relief of the poor by the discrecon of my executors Tenne pounds

Item I give to Mary my welbeloved Wief the money due to me and her by Edmond Tyrrell Esquire, the bedd that she and I use to lye on with thapparell [the apparel], one other bedd furnyshed, two geldings, two kyen [cows]
Item to her a boll [bowl] of silver mounte cov[e]r, foure silver spones, one of the best and three other / And my litle salte wt the cover of silver and gilte / and fourtie poundes

Item I bequeathe and give to Raffe Heyman my sonne my best Cupp wt a cover and a silver boll wt a cover, two silver gilte with acsver? / and the goblet whiche was my fathers and Sixe sylver spones / the beddes and the furnyture of the greate or newe Chamber
Item to Willyam Heyman my sonne a goblet with a cover / and the two saltes not gilt / and the next best bedd furnyshed to be delyvered to hym at his age of xxiijti [23] yeres

Item I bequeathe and give to the Marriages of every of my doughters Myldred, Emelyn, Annes, Janne and Susan so they marye wt consent of their freinds one hundreth poundes / or ells the sume to be paide to every of them at their severall ages of xxiiijti yeres
And yf any of them dye unmarried and before that age her or their p[ar]tes to be devyded amonge thother lyvng and unmaried

Item I bequeathe to my doughter Mary one hundrethe markes
Item I give to either of my doughters vs Margaret Johnson and Katheryn Hamon one of my best spones,
to the eldest of either of their Children onely a spone
And of the residue of the silver spones to evry of my other Children a Lyke spone

Item I give to Edward Heyman my brothers sonne his fynding at my charge at scole [school] till his age of xvj yeres
And at his age of xxj yeres to hym so muche of his fathers Inventary cometh unto Except the debtes whiche I have payd for hym or ells xxli [£20] in money

Item I bequeathe to John Sare vjli xiijs iiijd [£6 13s 4d]
To Willyam Grene xxs
And to every of my other s[e]rvntes whiche have dwelled with me above half a yere xld and more to some yf it so seme good to myn Executours
Item to Richard Tyll xxs and a cowe

Item I will give and bequeathe to the Childe my wief goeth with yf she shalbe with childe at (the) tyme of my decease, and yt Lyve to yeres of dysretion one hundred poundes / and the same Childe to be brought up in Lernyng mete & necessary being man or woman at the costs and chargs of myn Executours with my goods
Item I give to Rauff my sone for his Lyvinge yerely unto his age of xxiiijti [24] yeres xxxli [£30]
Item to Willyam Heyman my sonne for his exhibicon for two yeres next either yere vijli and every yere unto his age of xxiiij yeres Tenne pounds

Item I give and bequeathe to my Executours to p[er]forme and fulfill this my p[re]nte testament and fynding of my Children, the p[ro]fytts Ysuing and comyng of my Leases or termes of yeres of the manners [Manors] of Sellynge Harynge Tynton p[ar]sonages of Lym [Lympne] and West Hithe and of my Annuitie into of the Manor of Westgate unto the same shalbe pformyd and order with my goods takyn for the fynding of my Children /
and that so done I give and bequeathe my hole interest and terme of yeres in the Manrs of Harynge and Sellyinge and of othr Lands conteyned in the Indenture or lease wth them And also my lyke interest and term in the Manor of Tynton to Rauff Heyman my sonne
And my (w)hole interest and terme of and in the psonage of Lym and all other Lands and ten[emen]ts in that Lease mencioned I give to Wyllyam Heyman my sonne at his said aige

Provided alwaye and I will that yf either of the said Rauf or Willyam dye withoute Issue before the tyme of the delyvringe of any thinge before bequeathed or their Issue before the age of xxj yeres I will that to hym given so dyeng, to the other survyving
and yf they bothe so dye the same to the Childe my wief goeth wth yf it shalbe a sonne /

And I will that aswell the porcion of the childe my wief goeth with As the porcions of my daughters after the same sevrall porcions shalbe delyvrd shalbe putt to suche Resonable profett to their uses as may be with godes Lawes and the Kings, Takyn and to be payde and delyvered at the tymes before to them sevrally lymeted, and not before /

The residue of all my goodes and Cattalls I give & bequeathe to the said Raff Heyman and Willyam Heyman my sonnes to the pforminge of this my p[rese]nte testament /
Whome with Thomas Hales, Edward Hales and Willyam Hamon gentilmen I make and ordeyn Executours of this my prsent Testament and Last will /
and I give to evry of the said Thomas Hales, Edward Hales and Willyam Hamon xls and their resonable costes and expencs and for their Labours to be considered /
And the ovrplus yf any shalbe my Testament parformyd and my Children kept, I will yt shalbe devyded betwene my sonnes Rauff Heyman, Wyllyam Heyman and the Childe my wief goeth with yf it shalbe a sonne

And as to the distribucon of all my Manors, Lands and tents.

First I will give and bequeathe to Willyam Heyman my sonne all my Landes tenements and revercons called or knowen by the names of Groves or Brench, Faggs and Reddowte wt their Appurten[a]ncs lying and being in the p[ar]isshes of Lym and Westhithe (Except on(e) pece of Lande, parcell of Groves or brench lying under the barn and closse at Ilderyatt? to be had to hym and to his heires at his aige of xxiiijti yeres /

Item I wyll give and bequeathe to the Childe my wief goeth with yf it be a sonne to hym & to his heires forever at his age of xxj yeres my Manors, Landes and tents called or knowen by the names of Clawtysh?, monkenlands, holyrode, p[ar]ke or Fryayn parke with their Appurtenncs /
And all my Landes and tenements in Ellam and Sellyng /
And yf he dye before that age withoute Issue I will the same to Raff in fee symple / yf Raff dye withoute Issue to Willyam my sonne /

The residue of all my Landes tenements and Revercons I will give and bequeathe to Raff Heyman my sonne at his aige of xxiijti yeres
Provided alwaye that yt shalbe Lawfull to the said Raf and Willyam to make to any Woman which either of them shall happen to marry, A reasonable Joynter [Jointure] of any their severall ptes, Any thing above menconed notwithstanding

Provided also that yf either of the said Raff or Willyam dye Before their said sevrall ages and weithoute Issue his parte so dying withoute Issue to be to thother of them Lyvinge or to thissue of either of them lyvinge / And yf they bothe dye withoute Issue I will give & bequeathe all the saide Lands tenements and revercions to the Childe my wief goeth with all yf it shalbe a sonne /
And I will in the meane tyme the profyyts of my said Landes and tenements to myne Executours to the pformance of my testament

Further I will if any stryfs or varyannce shall aryse betwene by sonnes Raff and Willyam for any title or enterest by their mother to be claymed p'ticon or any other clause concernying this my last will or the p'formacon or execucon of the same or yf any of them shall refuse to be ordered therein by my said Executours named wt them or the Survivors of them / then I will give and bequeathe his parte so refusing to be ordered and all that which he sholde have by this will or testament to thother which wilbe contentyd to be ordered (any thing above in this presents notwithstanding)

Item I will that the said Mary my wief shall have and enyoie yerely dureing her lief over and above Twentie marks which is her Joynter, xvjli xiijs iiijd [£16, 13s 4d] either oute of my Landes or for me holden, to be paid as shall seme best to myne Executours So that Raiff pay xxli of his porcon and Willyam Heyman Ten pounds of his porcon /
and yf she be not assured of the saide yerely some of xvjli xiijs iiijd in suche sorte and forme And in suche resonable tyme as myne Executours maye Laufully do yt / I give to her the one half of the profytes comying of my sevrall termes of Sellynge, Harynge and the parsonage of Lym for terme of her lief Any thinge before mencioned notwithstanding

Item I will and desire that such as nowe is or some reasonable parte of the Landes of Sellinge and Harynge And of my Landes may be occupied by the p[ar]ishoners
Item suche things in my pnte testament and Last will as nedeth interpretacon or explanacon or is not certeyn I will the same shalbe interpreted explained and made certeyn by the said Thoms Hales or Edward Hales or any of them / And whatsoever they or any of them shall do therein or in adding, or dymyssing of the same I do take make and ordeyne yt as my Very Will And I most hartely desire them so to do
