In the Name of God Amen I John Hoad of Chislehurst in the County of Kent Blacksmith being of sound and disposing Mind and Memory Praised be God for the same do make and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say
first and Principally I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God and my Body I Commit to the Earth to be Interred at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named
and as touching my Worldly Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me withal I Give devise and dispose thereof as followeth that is to say

first I give and bequeath unto my loving son John Hoad as well all unpaid Book debts as shall be owing to me as also all the Stock of Iron and all the utensils and Implements of a Smith that I shall be possessed of at the time of my decease
Also I give and devise to my said son all and singular my Messuages or Tenements Hereditaments and Premises situate standing lying and being in the Town of Westerham in the County of Kent To have and to hold unto my said son and to his heirs and Assigns for ever

Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Rogers the Wife of John Rogers the Sum of twenty Shillings
also my Will and Mind is that my Executors do and shall apply the sum of ten pounds to the placing out as an Apprentice of my Grandson William Acourt Son of my Daughter Mary Rogers by her former Husband if my said Grandson shall like and be minded to go as an Apprentice to a Trade or in default thereof do and shall pay that said sum of ten Pounds unto my said Grandson at his age of twenty one years old

also all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Goods Chattels and Personal Estate whatsoever after payment of my debts Legacies and Funeral Expences I give and bequeath unto my loving Wife Mary Hoad upon Condition that she do upon request to her made by my said son Release unto him all such Right and Title of Dower as my said Wife shall or may have or might Claim of and in my Messuages or Tenements Hereditaments and Premises in Westerham aforesaid and in default thereof I give and bequeath the said Residuary Estate unto my said Son

And Lastly I do hereby revoke and make void all former and other Wills and Testaments by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament and I do thereof Nominate and Appoint my said Wife Mary Hoad and my said son John Hoad Joint Executors

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the twenty Ninth day of August in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and fifty John Hoad his Mark
