In the Name of God Amen I John Hogben late Schoolmaster of Bredgar but now in the Parish of Borden near Sittingbourne in the county of Kent being of sound and perfect mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament

First it is my desire that all my just debts and funeral expences be paid
I give and bequeath unto Ann Hogben the Wife of my Uncle Henry Hogben of Chalkwell in the Parish of Milton in the said County of Kent Landsurveyor the sum of ten pounds of lawful money of Great Britain

likewise I give and bequeath unto my Cousin John Hogben Clerk to the Bank of England the like sum of ten pounds
also I give and bequeath unto William Knowles Son of John Knowles Painter of Sittingbourne in Kent the sum of ten pounds
also to Ann Hills in the Parish of Faversham in Kent the sum of ten pounds
and in case of her death to her daughter Lydia Honiss of the said parish Widow

also I give and bequeath unto Charles Thomas the elder of Rye in the County of Sussex Taylor brother to Smith Thomas of the same place the sum of twenty pounds
also I give and bequeath unto John Ashbee of Boughton under Blean Farmer the sum of ten pounds
all the above legacies to be paid as soon after my decease as the nature of the business will permit

likewise I give and devise to Emma Margaret Martha Ann Hogben daughters of my said uncle Henry Hogben all my interest and share in the house in Clarges Street London if I shall come into possession of any part of it after the decease of my Aunt Ann Hogben of Smarden aforesaid Spinster and my Uncle Henry Hogben of Chalkwell aforesaid equally to be divided between them share and share alike
and in case of the death of any one of them the share of the deceased shall devolve to the Survivor their heirs Exors Administrators and assigns

and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Uncle Henry Hogben of Chalkwell aforesaid and John Ashbee of Boughton under Blean Executors to this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me heretofore made and do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament

In witness whereof I the said John Hogben the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this eleventh day of December in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen John Hogben
