In the Name of God Amen The xiiijth day of October in the viijth yeare of the Reigne of our Soveraigne Lord James by the grace of God Kinge of England France and Ireland and of his raigne of Scotland the xviiijth and in the yeare of our Lorde Christe 1610
I Elizabeth Holmes of Chilham in the Countye of Kent the wyfe of Thomas Holmes by the consent and good agreement of the said Thomas Holmes my husband doe make this my laste will and testament in manner and forme followinge, That ys to saye
First I will and bequeathe my Soule to Almightie god my creator and Redeeer and Saintifyer and my bodye to the earthe there to remayne till yt shall please god to rayse the same agayne

Item where I purchased in my widdowhood a house in Wincheape in Canterburye of one Gilbert nowe will that he the said Thomas Holmes my husband shall have the said house with thappurteances and the profitt thereof duringe his lyfe keepinge the reparacons and discharge only for the same and after his decease I will and bequeath the said house with thappurtenances to Edward Watson my sonne and William Watson my Sonnes and to the heries of theire bodye lawfullye begotten and yf any of them dye without yssue of his bodye lawfullie begotten then I will the whole to the Survivor of them and to the yssue of his bodye lawfullie begotten and yf they both dye without yssue lawfullie begotten then I will the same house with thappurtenacnes to Hamson Watson my sonn and to his heires for ever he payeinge to Marie Pope my daughter fyve pounds of lawfull money of England within one yeare next after the same shall fall to him and where by agreement at hys agreed and that not withstanding my mariadge with the said Thomas Holmes yet that I may dispose of the lease of the Cusing? forme where now the said Thomas Holmes my husband and I now dwell

And of all such moveable goods as are Conteyned in an Inventory annexed to an Indenture remayning in the hands of Mr. Dobb? of Chilham aforesaid nowe I will and dispose touchinge the same as followeth

First I will that the said Thomas Holmes my husband shall have the same till our Ladye daye round twelve month and the use of the moveable goods and stocke mentioned in the Inventorye abovesaid yf he soe long lyve and at the said Laye Daye round twelve month I will the said lease to my sonn Hamon and of my said husband doe renewe the lease for twentye yeares as by agreement the house I will he shall doe yt in the name of my sonn Hamon and to his use and yf my sonn Hamon dye before the said Ladye Daye then I will the same lease to Edward my sonn and that then yt shalbe renewed in his name and yf he dye lyke wyse before ye daye then I will yt to Willam Watson my son and yt shalbe renewed in his name

And yf yt happen my husband to dye before our Ladye Daye comes twelve month then I will my lease shalbe delivered to the said Hamon my son and yf he be then dead to Edward my son and yf he be dead to William my sonn in the same manner as ys aforesaid use my husband to the ladye daye aforesaid

and touching all the moveable goods menconed in the said Inventory and that my said husband must deliver by his Covenant and agreement I will the same at the said ladye daye come twelve month as before yf my said husband happen to dye before to my fower Children that ys to saye Hamon Watson Edward Watson William Watson and Marie Pope equallie to be devided betweene them and if any of them dye before the said tymes of dyliverye of the same then I will the same to the Survivor or Survivors of my said Children

And I finallie will that Hamon Watson my sonn yf the lease be putt under to him as before I ahve appotynted yt to be yf he lyve to the tyme shall paye unto out the same lease and in respecte of the puttinge out the same wiselye to him Fyfftye shillings yearely to each of his brothers Edward and William during the lease of the said Thomas Holmes my husband

Wittness as that the will within writen ys the true will and meaninge of the within named Elizabeth Holmes and that the said Thomas Holmes her husband did Ratifye and allowe the same

Thomas may have married Elizabeth Sharpe in Ashford on 11th April 1597.

Thomas Holmes married Elizabeth Watson in Chilham on 15th April 1609 but died and is buried in Chilham on 20th October 1610, followed by Thomas on 8th May 1612. I do not know who his 2nd wife was (by whom he had children in 1600 and 1603).

Elizabeth Watson, Thomas�s 3rd? wife, was originally Elizabeth Maxted, who had married Thomas Watson on 1st July 1579 at Chilham, having children:
21 May 1581: Thomas; 26 Sep 1585: Mary (Marie); 28 Apr 1588: Hamon; 13 Jun 1591: Edward; 17 Aug 1595: William.
Mary (Marie) Watson married William Pope 10 Oct 1608 at St. Mary Breadman, Canterbury.
