In the name of God Amen the two and twentieth day of February 1630 (1631).
I Thomas Holmes of Woodchurch in the county of Kent yeoman sicke in body but of good and perfect memory (God be praysed) doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge
First and principally I Commend my Soule into the hands of God my maker hopinge assuredly through the onely merritts of Jesus Christ to bee made p�taker of life everlastinge and I Commend my body to the earth whereof it was made

Item I give and bequeath unto Thomas Holmes my sonne Twenty pounds of lawful money of England to bee payd by my Executrix hereunder named when hee shall accomplishe the age of one and twenty yeares

Item I give and bequeath unto Katherine my daughter twenty pounds of lawful money of England to bee payd by my Executrix hereunder named when Catherine my daughter shall accomplishe the age of one and twenty yeares

Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth my daughter twenty pounds of lawful money of England to bee payd by my Executrix hereunder named when Elizabeth my daughter shall accomplishe the age of one and twenty yeares

Item I give and bequeath unto Mary my daughter twenty pounds of lawful money of England to bee payd by my Executrix hereunder named when Mary my daughter shall accomplishe the age of one and twenty yeares

Item my mynd and will is that if it happen any of my sayd Children to departe this life before hee shee or they accomplishe their severall and respective ages of one and twenty yeares; then the survivor or survivors of to bee heire equally to other

Item the Residue of all my goods chattells and Cattells whatsoever I give and bequeath to Elizabeth my wife whome I make and ordaine whole and Sole Executrix of this my last will and testament, and to see this my last will and testament aproved and performed my debtes legacies and Funerall rites payd and discharged

Item my mynd and will is that Elizabeth my Wife shall have the educacon of my sayd Children during their nonage and if it happen Elizabeth my widdow to marry before my sayd Children accomplishe their severall and respective age and ages above Specified then my mynd and will is that the husband noth shall take Elizabeth my widdow to wife shall before their marriage had and solemnized give sufficient bond and Security to Godfrey Marten my brother in lawe as well for the education of such my Children as shall then bee under the age of one and twenty yeares as also for such my Childrens portion or portions which at that tyme shall remaine and bee in the hands of Elizabeth unpayd, which if hee shall bee the husband of Elizabeth my widdowe shall pay over such porcion or porcions to Godfrey Marten and hee the sayd Godfrey Martn yealding and payinge ratably after the rate of eight pounds the hundred for such porcon or porcons as shall come to the hands of the sayd Godfrey Marten towards the educacon of such my Children as shall then bee under the age of one and twenty yeares and then he the sayd Godfrey Marten to pay such porcon or porcons as shall come to his hands to my sayd Children at the respective age and ages above mentioned

Thomas Holmes is buried 28th February 1631 at All Saints, Woodchurch. I have no record of what happened to Elizabeth � she could have died during the Commonwealth, of course. No Will found (as yet).
