In the name of God Amen the eighteenth day of April in the Seaventh yeare of the raigne of our now Soveraigne Lord King Charles 1631
I Anne Holmes of the p�ish [parish] of Eastchurch in the Isle of Sheapey [Sheppey] and County of Kent doe make and ordaine this my last will & testament in manner and forme following
First I bequeth my Soule unto the hands of Allmighty God my maker and redeemer and my body to the earth to be bured at the discretion of my executor hereafter named And those finale goods which God hath lent mee I dispose as followeth, vizt.

I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth the Wife of William Weekes the bedstedle the bed a feather boulster two blankets and a Coverlet being my best bed whereon I now lye And my will is that shee shall have the said legacie within one month next after my decease Item I give her a flock of Bees and shee to have them at the time when she receive her other legacie before bequeathed

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Joane the wife of Arthur Ayres my foure sheepe & three lambes being all the sheepe I have & one flock of Bees and my best petticote and wastcoate my best hatt and my best landabe? apron and three of my biggest peeces of pewter and my brass ketle And my will is that my said daughter Joane shall have the said legacie within one month next after my decease

Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Stephen Holmes my cow a table that stands in the milkhouse And a chest that stands by my bed side and my hog And my will is that my said sonne Stephen in regard I give him my hogg shall pay unto my daughter Joane the sume of two shillings and six pence of lawfull English mony at one month next after my decease
Item I will unto my said sonne Stephen one brasse pott and one brasse Stupnet and my newcloath of which I did purpose [propose?] to make myself a peticoate and wastcoate

Item I give and bequeath unto my sonne Mathen Holmes a table and three ioyned [joined] stooles a chaire and a forme standing in the halll a great Chest standing in the Milkhouse and a long chest standing in the Chamber over the hall a brasse caldron and my Calfe

And I doe constitute and appoint my welbeloved sonnes Mathen Holmes and Stephen Holmes executors of this my last will and Testamt [Testament]
An I give and bequeath the residue of my goods and chattells (my Funerall expenses debts and legacies being paid as my will is) unto my said Executors

Notes:
Anne was the Wife of William Holmes. William died and was buried at All Saints, Eastchurch on 24th Feb. 1615 and left a Will: PRC 17/61/11 - made 1615 and Proved 1616.
William and Anne�s marriage has not been found in Kent (pre-1590); although a 1579 London marriage exists, this is not thought to be of our William and Anne Holmes, but a family that resided there.

William and Ann Holmes' known children were all christened at Linstead (Lynsted), Kent:
William 16th Aug 1590 (Bu: 29 May 1616 at Eastchurch, s. of William); Thomas 18 Jun 1598; Mathew (Mathen) 11 Nov 1599; Joan 31 Oct 1604; Stephen 11 Feb 1609. Daughter Elizabeth has not been found.
Daughter Elizabeth Holmes m. William Wickes (Weekes) 19th October 1626 at St. John the Evangelist, Iwade.
Daughter Joan Holmes married Arthur Ayres 21 July 1630 at Eastchurch;
Son Stephen Holmes married Joan Cawston 26th July 1630 at Eastchurch. Stephen died and was buried there on 2nd March 1679.
Son Matthew Holmes (aka Mathen in the Will) married Ann Brown 6th February 1639 and was buried there on 2nd March 1679.
