Item I give and bequeath unto my son John Baker one moiety of that Lands which I purchased of Isaac Chiddicke that is to Say that feild next to the road leading to Canterbury & adjoining to the backside of the aforesaid John Baker where he doth now dwell unto him & his heires for ever upon condicon that my said Son John Baker shall leave of keeping of Alehouse and never to sell noe more beer he his wife nor any of his family and my will and meaning is that if upon this Condicon my said Son John Baker will not leave of selling drinke and leave of keeping a public house then my will and meaning is that my Son Thomas Homes shall have & inioy [enjoy] the said feild above mentioned to his onely use untill the eldest child of the said John Baker shall attain to the age of eighteen years
And if the said John Baker�s eldest child dye without heires of his or her body Lawfully begotten then it shall goe to the rest of the said John Bakers children and if the children of the said John Baker shall all dye without heires then my will and meaning is that the said feild before menconed shall returne unto my Son Thomas Homes and to his heires for ever
Item I give and bequeath unto my Son Thomas Homes the other moiety of the aforemenconed prcll [parcel] of Land that is to say that feild next adjoyning to the Lands & house where I now dwell t him and his heires for ever
Item I give and bequeath unto Judith Baker my granddaughter my gold ring which I
comonly will my thumbring to be delivered to her by my Executor at the age of 18 yeares or
the day or marriage which shall first happen
Item my other gold ring which I comonly wear on my finger I give an bequeath unto my Son Thomas Homes
Item I give and bequeath to my aforesaid son John Baker the Sume of five shillings to [be] paid unto him by my Executor within twelve months after my decease
Item all the rest of my gods household stuffe to come and chattells whatsoever in the p�ish
of Chislett & elsewhere in the County of Kent I doe give & bequeath unto my Son Thomas Homes and to his heirs for ever
& do make him sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking all other wills made by me at any tyme heretofore

Richard Holmes married Susan Baker (widow) 4th July 1665 at St. Martin, Herne. Their son Thomas was christened at Herne 2nd Nov. 1666.
