In the Name of God Amen
I Thomas Holmes of Deale n the County of Kent Carpenter, being sick on body but of sound and perfect Mind and Memory, and considering the uncertainty of this Life, do make and declare this my last will and Testament in manner following
First I comend my Soul unto Almighty God my Maker and mu Body to the Earth from whence it is, and for my Worldly Estate I give and bequeath the same as followeth (that is to say)

I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary, one Feather Bed Boldster and Furniture thereto belonging And also a Table
I give unto my Daughter Abia one Feather Bed Bouldster and the Furniture thereto beloning, And I also give the said Abia my paire of Fire Grates
Item I give to Abiais� child twenty shillings

Item all and singular the rest and Residue of my Goods Chattells moveables Leasehold Estate and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever of what Nature Kind or Quality soever (after payment of my Debts, Fuenral Charges and Charges of Probate of this my Will) I give and bequeath the same unto my Children Thomas William Mary and Abia equally to be divide betweene them

And I doe make constitute and appoint my loving friend George Hamond of Deale aforesaid, Victualler, full and sole Executor of this my Will Provided alwayes and my Mind and Will is, that my said Son William shall out of what I have hereby given, pay unto the said George Hamond all such money as he stands indebted to him the said George Hamond

Item I give the said George Hamond my Cane, and revoking all former wills I make and declare this only for my true and last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Holmes have hereunto set my hand and Seale the two and twentieth day of Mary Anno Dini 1710 and in the Eighth Yeare of the Reigne of Queene Anne over Great Britain

Notes:
Thomas Holmes was born circa 1649 (i.e., right at the start of the Commonwealth and hence no parish register coverage) and at age 25, as a Carpenter of Deal, he married Ann Mascall aged 24 of Deal on 8th August 1674 at St. Leonard, Deal.

They have 6 known children, all christened at St. Leonard, Deal:
John 28 Feb 1674; Abia 16 Jul 1676; Thomas 27 Jun 1677; Mary 29 Apr 1683; William 25 Apr 1686 and Daniel 10 Feb 1688.

Thomas Holmes was buried 18th Jun 1710; Ann on 18th Dec. 1715 � both at St, Leonard, Deal.

Daughter �Abiah� Holmes married John Linscott on 15th July 1703 at St. Leonard, Deal.
