In the name of God Amen This Twelfth day of January in the Second Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the First by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireand King Defender of the Faith etc. Anno Dini One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fiveteen
I Jane Holmes of the parish of Warhorn [Warehorne] in the County of Kent Widow being weak in Body but of sound and perfect mind and memory praised be God do make and ordain this my p�sent [present] Last Will and Testament in manner and form following vizt.
First and principally I commend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God hoping thro� [through] the Merits Death and passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have free pardon and full forgiveness of all my Sins and to inherit Everlasting Life And my Body I committ to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter named in the Churchyard of Warhorn (sic) if it may be
And as touching the Disposition of all such temporal Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof in manner and form following

First I will and desire that all my Debts Legacies and Funeral Charges shall be paid and discharged
Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Son and Daughter John Holmes and Mary Holmes Five pounds apiece to be paid unto them by my Executor hereinafter named when they shall arrive to the age of One and Twenty Years

Item I give devise and bequeath unto Elizabeth Baker Daughter of John Baker late of Egerton dec�d [deceased] the sum of Five pounds to be paid unto her by my Executor when she shall be of the Age of One and Twenty Years

Item I give devise and bequeath unto John Ottaway Son of John Ottaway of the parish of Smarden in the County of Kent Carpenter the Sum of Five pounds to be paid unto him when he shall be of the Age of One and Twenty Years

Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Brother John Bridges Three Sons, that is to say, John, Henry and Robert, One Guinea apiece to be paid unto them by my Executor when they shall be of the Age of One and Twenty Years

Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Brother Henry Bridges One Guinea to be paid unto him by my Executor
Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Sister Elizabeth Featherstone One Guinea to be paid unto her by my Executor hereinafter named
Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Sister Mary Bridges One Guinea to be paid unto her by my Executor hereinafter named

Item I give devise and bequeath unto my Sister Mary Bridges my two best Suits of wearing apparell both woollen and Linnen
and all the rest of my wearing apparell both woollen and Linnen I give and bequeath unto my Sisters Mary Bridges Eliabeth Featherstone Elizabeth Baker and Mary Holmes to be equally divided between them Four part and part alike

Item all the rest and residue of my personal Estate Goods and Chattels whatsoever I give and bequeath unto my Brother Robert Bridges whom I do hereby constitute make and ordaine full and soe my Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby make void all former Wills & Testaments by me heretofore made

In Witness whereof I the said Jane Holmes have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the day and year first above written

Jane Holmes, Widdow, was buried at St. Michael, Smarden on 27th January 1715/6.
