In the Name of God Amen I Jane Holmes of Faversham in the County of Kent Widow being of Sound Mind Memory and Understanding (praised be God for the same) Do make publish and declare this my last will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)
First and principally I resign my Soul to Almighty God in hopes of attaining Remission of my Sins and a Joyful and happy Resurrection to Life Eternal through the alone Merits and Mediation of my Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ And my body I commit to the Earth to be decently Interred at the discretion of my Executor hereinafter Named

Item I Give Devise and Bequeath All those my Two Messuages or Tenement[s] with their Appurtenances being in Abbey Street in Faversham aforesaid unto my Son George Holmes his heirs and assigns for ever

And as to all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever I Give and Bequeath the same unto my said Son George Holmes his Executors and administrators
And I do hereby constitute and appoint my said Son George Holmes Executor of this my last will hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I the said Jane Holmes have to this my last Will and Testament Set my Hand and Seal this Twenty Sixth day of March in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and sixty eight

The before Register[ed] Will of Jane Holmes deceased was proved the Tenth day of May 1768 before the Reverend John Rusher? Clerk Surrogate to the Worshipful Francis Simpson Doctor of Laws Official General to the Reverend the Archdeacon of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oaths of George Holmes Son of the deceased the Executor named in the Will he being first sworn duly to perform the same

Walter Holmes married Jane Pratt 13th April 1721 at SS Peter & Paul, Ospringe. Both were given as otp [of this parish].

Her son Walter Holmes was buried at Faversham on 19th November 1760. He left a Will (PCC).
Jane Holmes dies and is buried at Faversham on 2nd May 1768.

Walter is possibly the son of John and Elizabeth Holmes of St. Peter, Molash, christened there on 11th April 1695. Molash to Ospringe or Faversham is about 9 miles.
