after the payment of all my Just Debts of whatever Nature they may be and after all other Expenses
that may attend the proving this my Will and the Execution thereof Then my will is and I do hereby
Give and Bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth all and every my Goods Chattels and Effects that I
shall die possessed of or entitled unto at the time of my Decease to her and to her Heirs Executors
Administrators and Assigns
Subject nevertheless to the payment of Ten pounds a year unto my
Daughter Ann Yearly if she shall happen to depart this life before the Expiration of the said Ten
Years then for no longer time than she shall live nor for no longer time then the said Ten years
And lastly I do hereby make ordain constitute and appoint my said Daughter Elizabeth Executrix and my Friend John Morphew of Dover aforesaid Butcher Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills and Testaments by me at any time herebefore made
In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set and subscribed my Hand and Seal

The before registered Will of William Holmes deceased was proved the First Day of August 1816 before the Right Worshipful Sir William Hook? Knight Doctor of Laws Commissary General of the City and Diocese of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oaths of Elizabeth Tucker (the Wife of Benjamin Tucker) the Daughter and John Morphew the Executors named in the said Will they being first sworn well and truly to perform the same

Executor Elizabeth (nee Holmes), the daughter, married Benjamin Tucker on 22nd February 1806 at St.
Mary the Virgin, Dover.
William Holmes was born in 1760 and married Ann Upton 6th November 1783 at St. Margaret�s at
Cliffe. They had 3 children, all baptised at St. Mary the Virgin, Dover:
30 Jun 1785 Elizabeth; 18 Jul 1786 Ann; 18 May 1788 William.
William Holmes senior was buried 19th February 1816 at St. Margaret�s at Cliffe.
William Holmes was christened 7 Jan 1760, s. of George and Anne Holmes of Capel-le-Ferne, and had a large number of siblings. George married Anne Rolfe there on 29th April 1758, and was born in Elham on 26th Dec. 1734, 2nd child of George Holmes of Elham who married Dorothy Piddock of Swingfield 19th Feb. 1732 at St. Mary Bredin, Canterbury. George was born 1703 in Lyminge and buried 1769 in Elham.
