This is the Last Will and Testament of me Ann Holmes of Maidstone in the County of Kent Spinster

In the first place I nominate and appoint Elizabeth Hay the Widow of Thomas Hay late of Maidstone aforesaid sole Executrix of this my Will

I give and bequeath to the Revd William Morris Doctor of Divinity the sum of forty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain the same to be paid to and considered and taken by him as an equivalent for and in satisfaction and discharge of all such Sum and Sums of money as he shall have paid for property law and on my account

To Catherine Foster of Maidstone aforesaid Widow and to her daughter Agnes Sarah the sum of fifty pounds of like money to be paid and arrived before them in equal shares and proportions
And in case either of them shall happen to die in my life time then I desire that such deceaseds share shall descend and be paid to the Survivor of them

To Robert Edward Knight of Margate in the said County of Kent Doctor of Physics the Sum of fifty pounds of like money
To Sarah Farras of Maidstone aforesaid Spinster now residing with me the Sum of thirty pounds of like money
To my God daughter Jane Hall the Sum of Twenty pounds of like money
And to my Cousin Mr. Baxted of Elham in the said County of Kent Carpenter the Sum of fifty pounds of like money
All which these last mentioned Legacies or Sums of money I hereby will and direct shall be paid by my Executrix within three Calendar months next after my decease

And I give and bequeath all the residue and remainder of my goods Chattels money and Securities for Money bank notes Estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever, after payment of my debts funeral and Testamentary expences and the several and respective Legacies herein before given and bequeathed unto the said Elizabeth Hay her executors admons. [administrators] and assigns to and for her and their own absolute use and behoof and disposal

And lastly I hereby revoke annul and make void all former wills by me made and declare this only to be and contain my last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I the said Ann Holmes the Testatrix have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Ann Holmes the Testatrix as and for her last will and Testament in the presence of us at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses thereto

Proved at London 11st October 1821 before the Judge by the Oath of Elizabeth Hay the Sole Executrix to whom Admon, was granted having been first sworn by Comon. [Commission] duly to Adm. [Administer].

Notes: Ann Holmes was buried at Maidstone 1st October 1821, age not given. No birth in Maidstone fits � but there is a possible christening in Yalding, which is less than 7 miles away.
