In the name of god amen the xixth day of July in ye yeere of our Lord god 1591
I John Homes of the parishe of Reculver in the county of Kent laborer doe make and ordeigne this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge
First I bequth my soule into the hands of allmighty god my hevenly father and to Jesus his onely Sonne my redemer in whome and thorow [through] whose p�retions death and passions I trust onely to be saved

Item I give unto my two daughters Elizabeth Homes and Mary Homes to either of them a stocke and a swarme of bees to be putt out to the best in crease that may be fore them at the next Springe after my decease

And if it happen that my Wife be with Childe with a femalle childe then I will it to have the like portion bequeathed unto my other daughters And if it happen to be a male Childe then I will it to be cosens with my two sonnes nowe lyvinge in manner and forme following

All the Residue of my moveable goods unbequethed my debts and legacies being paid I give unto Sara my Wife towards the maintenance of her lyvinge and the bringinge up of my children
And I ordaine the said Sara my Wife sole Executrix of this my last will and testament

This [is] my last will and testament of me the said John Homes concerninge the disposition of my Tent. [tenements] and lands in manner and forme followinge

Item I will that my two sonnes Isacke and Henry Homes shall have my Tent. and lands thereunto adioininge to them and their heires for ever they to come to it imediatly after my wyfes decease
And if my said sonnes shall offer to sell my said Tent. and lands then I will my said daughters to enter and for the one half of the same provided that ye said Sara my wife shall have ye occupacon use and p�fit of my said Tent. and lands during her naturall life she keeping ye same nom. ... gst ?? and watertight sufficiently repayred

these beinge witnesses at the orderinge of this my last will and testament

Notes: I have been unable to find out anything about this family. There are no Holmes in Reculver parish register before the 1670�s.
