In the Name of God Amen the seventeenth daie of Januarie in the Yeare of Our Lord one thousand sixe hundred and thirtie two and in the eighth yeare of the Raigne of Our Most Gracious Sovareigne Lord Charles by the Grace of God Kinge of England Scotland France and Ireland defender of the Faithe etc
I Nicholas Homwood of the Parish of Brenchley in the Countie of Kent Yeoman doe make and ordaine this my present Testament and last Will in manner and forme following. First I bequeathe my soule to Allmightie God and my bodie to be buried.

Item I give to the poore of ye Parish of Brenchley ten pounds of lawfull money of England to be bestowed amongst them at the daie of my burial and at the end of sixe months tenne pounds of like money.
Item I give to Mr. Henshall Minister of Brenchley two pounds.
Item I give to William Turner of Brenchley ten shillings.
Item I give unto Elizabeth Tylden the Daughter of Henry Tylden fortie pounds. Item I give unto the fower children of the said Henry twentie pounds to be devided amongst them. And my will is that the mother of theis chidren shall take the said money given to her children and bestowe it amongst them as is aforesaid.

Item I give to Martha Cockman the daughter of Edward Cockman twentie pounds
Item I give to all the other children of the said Edward Cockman tenne pounds to be equallie devided amongst them. And my minde is that Mrs. Tilden Senior of Brenchley shall receive the said money and bestow it amongst them in such order as aforesaid. Item I give unto the two sonnes of William Tylden, Thomas and Anthony twentie pounds to be equallie devided betweene them.
Item I give to the children of Richard Gaynsford Junior twentie pounds equallie to be devided betweene them.
Item I give to the children of John Tylden Gentleman twentie pounds.
Item I give unto every of my Godchildren which are not any Kine to me five shillings soe that they aske the same within one yeare after my decease.

Item I give unto Margarett the wife of Richard Hiam my Kinswoman twentie pounds.
Item I give to the children of my Uncle Stephen Symes late dwelling at Bydenden fiftie pounds to be equallie devided amongst them.
Item I give unto Joane Elsey my servant ten pounds one flockbedd one flockbolster two blankets and a bedstoole and the greatest brasse pott that I have and a paire of sheets.

Item give to Elizabeth the daughter of John Bold of Marden five pounds.
Item give to Henry Cocke twentie shillings.
Item give to my tenant Wrogley tenne shillings.
Item give to Mathew Bennett twentie shillings.
Item give to Richard Gamon twentie shillings.
Item give unto John Bold five pounds.
Item give unto William Beckett twentie shillings.
Item give unto John Winsett tenne shillings.
Item give unto Thomas Irons tenne shillings.
Item give unto Wyatt Partridge twentie shillings.
Item give unto Thomas Harmer tenne shillings.
Item give unto Richard Bold twentie shillings.
Item give unto Richard Carpenter of Goudhurst my tenant tenne shillings.
Item give unto Widow Seareinge tenne shillings.
Item I give unto Widow Deeper tenne shillings.
Item I give unto Widow Winsett tenne shillings.
Item I give to Widow Picke tenne shillings.
Item I give to Widow Browne late wife of Mathew Browne fortie shillings.
Item I give unto John Latter of Yalden my Servant tenne shillings.
Item I give unto Richard Duffell of Yalding late my Servant tenne shillings.
Item My will is that if Elizabeth the Widowe of Andrew Homwoode my kinsman be with child by him then I give unto it five Shillings.

Item My will and minde is that all my gifts and Legacies which I have given shalbe paid within one yeare and a halfe next after my decease.
And my minde and will is, that whereas I have given to any children that be under age if their friends will come and make a sufficient discharge for them then my will and minde is that my Executor shall paie them within such tyme as is aforesaid

All the residue of my moveable goods Cattells and Chattells whatsoever not before given I give unto William Wells my kinsman whom I make and ordaine to be my Executor of this my will and testament To paie my debts and my legacies and to see this my will performed.

This is the last will of mee the said Nicholas Homwood made the daie and yeare abovesaid concerninge the giving and disposinge of all my messuages lands and tenements which I have sett lyinge and being in the parishes of Brenchley Yalding and Gowdherst in the Countie of Kent

Item I give to the two sons of William Wells my kinsman, Nicholas and William my messuage wherein I now dwell with the barne and other buildings to the same belonginge And the lands which I now have in my occupation which I purchased of Henry Tilden gentleman when they shall come to their ages of twentie one yeares, to them and to their heires forever.
And my will and minde is that William Wells their father shall have the occupation and yearely profitts of the same untill they shall come to their ages of twentie one yeares.

Item I give three other parcells of land lyinge in Brenchley contayninge by estimation tenne acres lyinge to the High waie leadinge from the house of John Day to Yalding to the three daughters of the said William Wells, Frances, Elizabeth and Sarah when they shall come to their ages of twentie one yeares or their daies of marriage which shall first come, to them and and their heires forever.
And my minde is that their father William Wells shall have the occupation and yearely profitts of the said land untill they shall come to their ages aforesaid.

Item I give to Richard Wells my kinsman one dwelling house, one barne with other buildings, and the lands which I purchased of John Tilden gentleman now in the occupation of to him and to his heires for ever.
Saveing that my will and minde is that my Executor shall take one whole yeares rent next after my decease.

Item I give to John Wells my kinsman one messuage one barne and other buildings to the same belonginge And certaine parcells of land beinge in Brenchley and Yaldinge in the occupation of John Harmer which I purchased of John Tilden gentleman. And also one cottage house with a garden, orchard and one peece of land to the same belonging which I purchased of Luke Palmer, to him and to his heires for ever. Saveing that my will and minde is that my Executor shall take the yearely rent one yeare and a halfe next after my decease.

Item I give to the two daughters of my kinsman Robert Bold late dwelling in Sussex neere to Battell, one dwelling house and other buildings, and three parcells of land beinge in Brenchley which I purchased of James Danne. And also two other parcells of land which I purchased of William Danne all in the occupation of William Harmer, to them and to their heires forever. Saveing my will and minde is that the mother of theis children shall atke the yearely rent of the same untill the said children shall come to their ages of one and twentie yeares or their marriages which shall first happen.

Item I give to Stephen Parkes and John Parkes children of Stephen Parkes of Mayfeild fower parcells of land lyinge in Yalden commonly called Robletts which is now in the occupation of John Ferall to them and to their heires forever. And my will and minde is that Stephen Parke the father of theis children shall have the yearely rents of theis parcells of land untill theis children shall come to their ages of twentie one yeares paying unto Susan Parke his daughter the somme of twentie pounds.

Item I give unto John Wells and Richard Wells my kinsmen certaine lands in the occupation of Richard Gamon and one peece of land in my occupation by estimation ten acres which I purchased of William Tilden gentleman to them and to their heires forever,
paying unto Mrs Mary Tilden senior of Brenchley and to Elizabeth Wells of Mayfeild, mother to the said John and Richard to every of them fower pounds yearely during the terme of their naturall lives quarterlie to be paid to them at fower usual termes in the yeare that is to saie, at the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ, at the feast of the virgin Mary, at the feast of St John Baptist and St Michaell the archangell, by even portions to be paid, the first payment to beginne the next Feaste after my decease and soe to continue every quarter duringe the terme of theire naturall lives.
And if it shall happen that any default shalbe made in any payment as aforesaid that then it shalbe lawfull for them or their Assignes to have the occupacon of the said lands during the terme of their two naturall lives.

Item I give unto Sarah Homwood my kinswoman three peeces of land commonly called Apsly Grove in the occupacon of William Wregley and one peece of land comonlie called Byshopes Field in my occupacon to her and her heires forever. But if it happen that the said Sarah to decease without heires of her body lawfullie begotten then my will and minde is that the said land before given to the said Sarah Homwood shalbe and remaine to William Wells and Richard Wells and to their heires forever.

Item I give unto Barbara the wife of Robert Bold, my sister sixe pounds every year during the term of her naturall life to be paid unto her halfe yearely to be paid by even porcons out of any messuage and lands commonly called The Trench in the occupacon of John Farman.

Item I give unto Nicholas Fishenden sonne of Robert Fishenden my kinsman all my messuage barne and lands commonly called The Trench which I purchased of Edward Raynes Gentleman in Brenchley to him and his heires forever.
Savinge that my will and minde is that Robert Fishenden his father shall take the yearlie Rent thereof until the said Nicholas Fishenden shall come to the age of twentie and one yeares except sixe pounds every yeare which formerly is given to Barbara the wife of Robert Bold during her natural life.
And if he the said Robert Fishenden shall fell or cut downe any of the wood or tymber otherwise then for reparacon then he shall forfeite his tyme before given unto him.

Item I give unto George Fishenden sonne of Robert Fishenden my kinsman my messuage barne and other buildings and lands Iyinge and beinge in Goudhurst at Resbridge in the occupacon of Richard Carpenter to him and his heires forever.
And my will and minde is that Robert Fishenden his father shall take the yearlie Rent thereof until George his sonne shall come to the age of twentie and one yeares. And if the said Robert Fishenden or his assignes shall fell or cause to be felled or cut downe any of the woods or timber otherwise then for reparacon then he shall forfeite his tyme that is formerly given to him.
