And I Give and Bequeath all my Money Securities Household Furniture Effects Goods Chattells and
personal Estate whatsoever unto my said Wife Ann? Homes for her life but not the absolute property and disposal of the same

The before Registered Will of John Homes deceased was proved the Ninth day of April 1838 before the Reverend John Peachey Francis, Clerk, Surrogate to the Worshipful Sherrard Beaumont Burnaby Docotr of Laws Commissary general of the City and Diocese of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oaths of John Homes and George Homes Sons of the Deceased two of the Executors named in the said Will They being first sworn well and truly to perform the same (Power being reserved of making the like Grant to Elizabeth Homes Widow the other Executor named in the said Will when she shall apply for the same).

Ann Homes christening is not found.
It appears John Holmes was christened 1st April 1759, s. of John and Margaret, at St. Lawrence-in-Thanet.
John was buried, aged 80, at All Saints, Birchington, Kent on 9th February 1838.
