Thomazine Honywood of the Citty of Canterbury, Widow, will dated 20 July 1625
My body to be decently buryed in the Churche of ye same parishe wher it shall please god that I shall dye. And for the orderlye doinge thereof I give and leave to myne Executor hereafter named, �20 and �6 of like money for a tombestone to be engraved at ye discretion of myne Executor And my will is that he shall provide a dinner and a bankett at my funeral for such as come thereunto.
I give to the poore of the parish where I shall happen to dye �5

I give and bequeath to my sonne John Adye, gent, a double sault guilted and �10 and a carpet wrought upon a red ground
�3 to my sonne Adyes wife, my daughter in lawe, to make her a ringe
To my nephew John Adye the younger, a wine boule guilt
�3 to my neece Dorothey, my sonne Adyes daughter
�3 to my neece Elizabeth, my sonne Adyes daughter
�3 to my neece Mary, my sonne Adys daughter and also a guilt cupp
I give unto the 2 children that my sonne Adye hath by his nowe wife, to each of them 40 shillings

�5 to my sonne in lawe Edward Ledsham of London, gent, to buy him mourninge
�20 to my sonne in lawe John Bix of the Citty of Canterbury, gent, to buy him mourninge
�5 to my sonne in lawe James Wood, gent, to buy him mourninge
�10 to my daughter Bix and a silver beker and �3 more to buy a mourninge gowne
�10 to my godson Adye Bix, three silver spoones and 40 shillings more to buye him a mourninge cloke
�5 to John Bix, my daughter Bixes sonne, 2 silver spoones and 40 shillings more to buy him a mourninge cloke.
�5 to James Bix, my daughter Bixes sonne and 40 shillings more to buy him a mourning cloke
I give and bequeathe to my daughter Bix my best Coverlett of tapestrye worke without any lining and my great trunke wherein my writings be

I give and bequeathe unto my daughter Ledsham a carpet wrought on a green ground and a wine boule guilt and my best brass pott & �10 and �3 more to buy her a mourning gowne at my funeral
�100 to my neece Christian Wood, my daughter Woods child to be payd unto her at her age of 21 yeares and also one silver beker and my little trunke marked with J.A. and my cloake and savegard my pillion and pillion clothe

And my will and minde is that my daughter Ledsham maye have the use of the cloake and savegard pillion and pillion clothe (usine them well) till Christian Wood come to the age od 12 yeares
And if the said Christian dye before her age of 21 yeares or marriage, I will that John Wood her brother shall have �20 of the said �100 and the residue of the said �100, being �80 I will and bequeath to my daughter Bix and my daughter Ledsham their children equally to be devided amongst them

Also my will is that my daughter Ledsham shall have the educacion of the said Christian Wood and for the better maintenance of the said Christian my daughter Ledsham shall have �4 yearely out of the profit of the said �100 (beside the allowance of her Father) and the residue of the said profit to goe in increase and surplusage for and to the use of the said Christian

I give and bequeathe unto my daughter Bix and my daughter Ledsham my paire of bracelets beinge before a cheine of gould to each of them one bracelet and I give and bequeathe unto my daughter Bix, my daughter Ledsham and unto Christian Wood all my wearinge apparell both linen and woollen amongst them three equallye to be devided

I give and bequeathe unto my daughter Woode* 30 shillings for to make her a ringe
I give and bequeath unto John Bix of Babchild, my sonne Bixes eldest sonne, 40 shillings
I give and bequeathe unto my sister Hewson 40 shillings for to buy her a ringe
20 shillings unto Jane Hewson my sisters daughter to buy her a ringe
30 shillings to Sibill Hewson, my sisters daughter to buy her a ringe
40 shillings to my Cosin Katherin Tomlyn, widowe
2 silver spoones to Thomazin Hasenoll, my goddaughter
40 shillings to my loveinge neighbour Mrs Marye Lade the wife of Mr Robert Lade
10 shillings to goodwife Waters of the parish of Doddington
10 shillings to goodwife Taylor of Doddington
20 shillings to every maidservant that I shall happen to have at the time of my death

Residue of my goods and money I give and bequeath unto my sonne John Adye, gent, whom I make my sole and onlye Executor of this my last will and testament
And I make and appoint Robert Lade of the Cittye of Canterburye, gent, my good and lovinge neighbour and James Wood, gent, my sonne in lawe, my overseers

This is the last will and testament of me the foresaid Thomazin Honiwood� touchinge and concerninge all my lands and tenements, rents, charges or coppye houlde

First I give and bequeath the coppye houlde land that I have in or neere the parishe of Islington in the county of Middx neere London unto my sonne John Adye for and during his naturall life and then to John Adye his sonne to him and his heires for ever.

I give and bequeathe my house that I have in London in Thames Streete in the parish of St Marye Hill being the signe of ye whete hooppe with three salte (?) unto my daughter Bix, my daughter Ledsham and John Wood the sonne of the said James Woode to them three for and during their naturall life equallye to be devided amonst them and I make them Tenants in Common thereof, And after their decease to the heires of their bodyes severally to be begotten equallye to be devided amongst them as tenants in common for ever

And whereas I gave one annuitye or yearly rent charge of �8 by the yeare issuinge and goinge out of certaine landes of my sonne James Wood which I had for ye securitye of �100 lent by me unto ye said James Wood which he is to pay me again at one whole and entire payment, I meane the somme of �100 and �4 more for the rent of the same annuitye for halfe a yeare at or upon the first day of Maye next ensuing, the date thereof as by a promise in the said deed of grant thereof conteyned appeareth, my desire is that my sonne James Wood doe paye the said �104 at the said daye. Yet if my said sonne Wood doe fayle in payeinge of the same so that the said annuitye become absolute to me and my heires for ever, Then I give and bequeath the same annuitye or rent charge of �8 per annum unto my sonne John Adye and to the heires males of his bodye lawfully begotten uppon this condition that he doe well and trewlye paye and discharge all the legacyes by me given and bequeathed in this my last will and testament.

And if my said sonne doe not paye and discharge all the said legacyes specyfied and given within the time limited in and by the said will, then my will and meaninge is that the said Christian Wood shall have and enioye the said annuitye or rent charge of �8 per annum to her and to her heires for ever and my sonne Adye to have no parte thereof And then also I will that the said Christian Wood shall not have the �100 to her before herein devised nor any part thereof.
