In the name of God Amen the seaventh day of January in the eleavanth yeare of the raigne of our Soveraigne Lord James by the grace of God Kinge of England France and Ireland, Defendour of the fayth etc. and of Scotland the eight and fortieth [1613/4]
I George Houllt of the parrish of Goodnestone nigh unto Feversham in the County of Kent beinge sicke in body but of good and perfect remembrance (I prayse God) do make and ordayne this my last will and testament in maner and forme followinge
First I bequeath my soule into the handes of allmighty God my Creator and to Jesus Christ my redeemer trustinge by his pretious death to be saved and my bodye to be buried in the Churchyarde of Goodnestone at the discretion of my Executor

Item I will and bequeath (accordinge to my former promise) unto my daughter Hancock the somme of ten poundes of lawfull money of England to be payde unto her within one yeare next after my decease
Item I will and bequeath unto my daughter Margaret the some of fifty poundes of lawfull mony of England to be payde unto her when she commeth unto the age of one and twenty yeares or at her day of mariage wch shall first happen

Item I will and bequeath unto my sonne John the sume of threescore pounds of lawfull money of England to be payde unto him when he commeth to the age of one and twenty yeares
Item I do further will and bequeathe unto the sayde John my sonne the sume of ten poundes of like lawfull money of England to be payde unto hime at the age of one and twenty yeares out of the house and land wherein I now dwell
And I will that my sayde sonne John shall have twenty shillings by the yeare out of the sayde house and lande the sayde twenty shillinges to beginne at his age of one and twenty yeares and so to continue unto him and his heyers untill the sayde summe of ten poundes shall be fully payde to be levied by way of distress

Item I will and bequeath unto my sonne Saker my house wherein I dwell with the mault house orcharde and gardens with the appurtenances thereunto belonginge togeather with the destwarie and all other implementes necessary for the makinge of mault now in the sayde maulthouse to him and to hsi heyers for ever
provided allwayes and my will is that Mildred my wife shall have the occupacon of the prmisses bequeathed unto my sonne Saker for his better educacon untill he shall accomplish the full age of one and twenty yeares and my will is from thenceforth my wife shall have the beast Chamber in the house at her oune Choice duringe her naturall life if she then be a widdowe and to enjoy the sayde Chamber duringe the time of her widdowhood for her owne dwellinge only

Item my will is that the portion given unto my sonne John by this my will shall remayne in the handes of my sayde wife for the better educacon of my sayde sonne John untill his sayde age of one and twenty yeares
but if it shall happen that Mildred my wife shall marry agayne then my will is that shee shall put in good securitye to my ..... Thomas Mendfield and Mr. Christopher Saker of Fevershame for the keapinge of my now dwellinge house and the maulte house thereunto belonginge in good and sufficient reparations and payinge the quitrents duringe the minority of my sayde sonne Saker
and for the payment of my legacy of threescore pounds formerly given unto my sonne John according to the true intent and meaninge of this my will wch if shee refuse to doe then my will is that the sayde portion of threescore poundes to be delivered over in trust by my sayde wife unto my loveinge frinde Mr. Thomas Menfield and Mr. Christopher Saker a fore sayde, to be plantd forth for the beast [best] advantage of my sonne John untill he shall accomplish his age of one and twenty yeares

The rest of my goodes whatsoever unbequeathed I do will and bequeath into Mildred my wife whome I do make and ordayne my whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament

George Holt married Mildred Swift 26 Oct 1584 at St. Mary of Charity, Faversham.
Daughter Hester Holt and Thomas Hancock (both of Goodnestone) were married at St. Bartholomew, Goodnestone-next-Faversham, Kent on 26 Nov 1610.
Atkins, Richard of Faversham, Carpenter and Margaret Holt of Goodnestone-next-Faversham, Virgin. At St. Mary Bredman, Canterbury, 4 Aug 1614.
