And I give unto my sonne Josua one silver cup all guilte besides a fowrth p[ar]te of a Crayer called the Swallowe whereof he is

I give unto my sonne John at his adge if xxjte [21] yeares a fowrthe pte of the Swallowe or els thirtie poundes then in monnye at his choise to be paid by my Executrix For security whereof I will my Executrix shall put in bond wth sufficient surety wthin fourtye dayes after marriadge (if she happen to marrye)
I give unto Sara my daughter a bed furnished wth the Coverlet of tapestry now one [on] the bed I
lyeth in, my best table in the p[ar]lor of the house I dwell in wth a greate Cheste in the Chamber

And to my sonne I give all the paynted Clothes in the howse I dwell in wth a presse in the plor, a cubbard in the Hall wth Longsettells in the

All the residue of my goods and chattells, monnye, plate and houshould stuffe I give to my wife Hellen Hurlestone whome I make sole Executrix of this my testament and Laste will
This is the laste will of me the said Richard Hurlestone made the said daie and yeare
First I give to my sonne Thomas and his heires All that my messuage wth thappurtenancs [the appurtenances] in St. Clements p[ar]ishe
in Sandwch now in the occupacon of the said Thomas and of certaine estrangers
Also I give unto my said sonne Thomas and his heires all that new house or tenement wth the appurtenanncs in Lovelane in Sandwch beinge next to
Rhodes his stable now in the occupacon of a felemonger wth a moyetye [moiety] of the garden plott from that new house as far up
as to the end of the Priorye
I give to my sonne Nicholas and his heires the New tenement wth the appurtenanncs in the Highe Streete in Sandwch nowe in the occupacon of Richard Jones marryner wth a backside downe from that tenement as far as Rhodes his stable, wch backside shallbe twoe feete broader then that new tenement
I give to my sonne Josua and his heires all that new house wth the appurtenanncs in the Highe Streete in Sandwch now in the occupacon of Charles Cricket estmonger? And also the house wth the appurtenanncs in Sandwch nowe in the occupacon of the said Josua
Provided and my minde is that John my sonne kepinge reparacons well and sufficiently shall and maye duringe his mothers life or untill shee happen to marrye after my decease freely and wthout payinge any rent Inhabite that house wth the appurtenanncs in Sandwch nowe in (the) occupacon of my sonne Josua
Item I give to my said sonne John and to his heires for ever after my wives death shee keepinge her selfe a widowe, All that my Messuage wth the appurtenanncs in the highe streate in Sandwch wherein I now dwell, my wife keepinge all that time sufficiently the reparacons thereof
Item I give to Sara my daughter and to the heires of her bodye lawfully begotten the
howse wth the appurtenanncs wherein Thomas Jordan now dwelleth beigne one other new howse
in Love Lane in Sandwch adjoyninge to the new tenement before given to my sonne Thomas in this my Will
And for want of such heires of her bodye, The same to remaine to my sonne John and to his heires for ever
Provided and my Will is that my Executrix shall have the Educacon of my said Daughter untill shee come to the adge of xviijteen [18] yeares or
be married and shall also have the rent of her howse before given towards her kepinge prayeinge my Executrix to be as a naturall mother unto her
I will and my minde is that my Executrix for the terme of Fower yeres next after my death (if shee live doe longe) shall receave the profytts and rents of the twoe new tenements in Love Lane And of the house in Richard Jones his occupacon and of the house in Charles Cricketts occupacon Ta..ards? payeinge of my debtes and legacyes
Lastely I chardge my Children on my Restinge that they agree brotherly together And that wth such legacyes as I have severally given them by this my testament and will And that they be loveinge and helpinge unto my Wife in the best manner they can, not doinge to her any Wronge or hinderance
Provided and my will and mind is that if they or any of them shall not holde themselves contented wth theire pte or porcon by me before given or shall not quietly suffer theire mother my Executrix to injoye such legacyes and gyftes as herein I have given unto her Then that he or they soe discontented shall have noe benefyt by this my testament or will nor injoy any of my moveables goods But the part of moveable goods of him or them soe discontented shall remaine wholye to my Executrix

Richard Horlestone was buried at St. Peter, Sandwich, Kent on 22 Mar 1595/96.
Richard Horlstone's first marriage has not been found, however, his children: Thomas 22 Jan 1567; Nicholas 10 Mar 1571; John 24 Nov 1577;
Sara 8 Jun 1582; Katheryn 29 Jan 1583/4; - were all baptised at St. Peter, Sandwich.
Katheryn wife of Rychard Harlestone was buried 30 Jan 1583/4 at St. Peter, Sandwich, Kent.
Hellen wife of Rychard Harlestone was buried 22 Oct 1588 at St. Peter, Sandwich, Kent.
Richard Harleston married Hellen Umar 15 Jun 1590 at St. Peter, Sandwich, Kent.
Hellen Hurlestone marries Rychard Hawker 4 Oct 1597 at St. Peter, Sandwich, Kent.
