In the Name of God Amen I William Irons of Chilham in the County of Kent being weak in Body but of sound mind and Memory blessed be God do this 21st day of June in the twelfth year of the reign of the Lord George the second King of Great Brittain France and Ireland defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord 1738 make and publish this my last Will and Testament in Manner and Forme following (that is to say)
Imprimis I commend my Soul into the hands of almighty God who gave it me and my Body to the earth from whence it came in hopes of a joyfull Resurrection through the merrits of my Saviour Jesus Christ and as for what worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I dispose thereof as followeth

First I give to my Grandson John Irons son of John Irons deceased the sum of Five pounds
Item I give to my Grandaughter Grace Irons Daughter of John Irons aforesaid the sum of Five pounds
all payable within Fourteen Months after my decease

Item I give to my Wife Judith Irons all that Messuage or Tenement and Lands with (their) Appurtenances (situate lying and being)? in the parish of Chilham aforesaid to hold to her during her natural Life she making no spoil Waste or Destruction thereupon
and from and after her decease I give and devise the same to my Son William Irons his heirs and assigns for ever
he the said William Irons paying to his Brother Thomas Irons the sum of ten pounds in manner following (that is to say) Five pounds within one year after he ...? the same and the other Five pounds at the end or Determination of two years next after he receive? the same

Item I give all the rest of my goods chattles and personal Estate to my said Wife Judith Irons and I make and ordain her my said Wife sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke disanull and make void all former Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made

In Witness whereof I the said William Irons to this my last Will and Testament being contained in one sheet of paper have sett my Hand and Seal the day and year above written

Signed sealed and delivered by the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who were present at the signing and sealing thereof

The above registered Will of William Irons deceased was proved the Fifth day of July 1738 before the Reverend Richard Monins, Clerk, lawfull Surrogate to the Worshipfull George Lee, Doctor of Laws, Official General to the Archdeacon of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Judith Irons the Relict of the said deceased and Executrix herein named to whom Administration of the goods chattles and credits of the said deceased was committed she being sworne well and truly to administer the same
