In the Name of God Amen I James Jeken of the Parish of Oxney in the County of Kent yeoman being of Sound Mind and Memory (God be praised for the same) but considering the Uncertainty of this Mortall Life do therefore make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)
First I humbly recommend my Soul unto Almighty God hoping through the Merits Death and Passion of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer to receive forgiveness of all my Sins and to Inherit Everlasting Life my Body to the Earth to be decently Interred at the Discretion of my Executors hereinafter named And as to my Estate both real and personall I dispose thereof as followeth

Inprimis I Give and Devise unto my Loving Wife Mary All that peice or parcell of Land commonly called or known by the name of Richburrough Feild containing by Estimation Thirty two Acres more or less Scituate lying and being in the parish of Ash next Sandwich in the said County of Kent and now or late in the Tenure or Occupation of Thomas Wood or his Assigns
And also all that messuage Farm Land and premisses commonly called or known by the name of Catsoal Scituate lying and being in the Parish of Goodnestone in the said County of Kent and now or late in the Occupation of the Widow Dixson or her Assigns
And also All those three peices or parcells of Land called Beaumonts containing together by Estimation Twenty three Acres more or less with the appurtenances Scituate lying and together being in the Parish of St. Margarets Att Cliffe in the said County of Kent and now in my Own Occupation
And Also All that my Parsonage or Rectory of Oxney beside Dovor in the said County of Kent with all and singuler the Glebe Lands containing by estimation Four Acres more or less To hold the said Messuage Farm Parsonage or Rectory and all and every my said Lands and premisses with their and every of their Appurtenances unto my said Wife Mary for and during the Term of her naturall life She keeping the Buildings belonging to all and every my said Lands in Good and Tenantable Repair

and from and after the Decease of my said Wife Mary I Give and Devise unto my loving Son John Jeken the said Lands commonly called or known by the name of Richburrough Feild containing by Estimation thirty two Acres more or less Scituate lying and being in the said Parish of Ash and now or late in the Occupation of the said Thomas Wood To hold the same unto my said Son John Jeken his heirs and Assigns for ever
Provided allways nevertheless and upon this Condition and it is my Mind and Will that my said son John Jeken shall within twelve months next after the decease of my said wife Mary pay unto his brother William Jeken the summe of Three hundred pounds of lawfull Money of Great Britain And I do hereby charge the said Land called Richburrough Feild with the payment thereof
And in case my said Son John Jeken shall make Default in payment thereof It shall and may be lawfull to and for my said Son William Jeken to Enter upon the said Land called Richburrough Feild and Distrain for the same and hold and enjoy the same or otherwise to receive the Rents and proffitts thereof untill the said Summe of three hundred pounds shall be paid and Satisfied to my said Son William Jeken According to the true Intent and Meaning of this my Will

Item from and after the Decease of my said Wife Mary I Give and Devise unto my said Son William Jeken All that my said Messuage Farm Land and premisses commonly called or known by the name of Catsoal Scituate lying and being in the said Parish of Goodnestone and now or late in the Occupation of the said Widow Dixson To Hold the same unto my said Son William Jeken his heirs and Assigns for ever

Item from and after the Decease of my said Wife Mary I Give and Devise unto my loving Son James Jeken All those my Aforesaid three peices or parcells of Land called Beaumonts containing together by Estimation Twenty Three Acres Scituate lying and being in the said Parish of Saint Margarets Att: Cliffe and now in my own Occupation And also all that my said Parsonage or Rectory of Oxney withall and Singuler the Glebe Lands containing by Estimation Four Acres be there more or less To Hold the same unto my said Son James Jeken his heirs Executors Adminstrators and Assigns for ever

Item I Give unto my Loving Daughter Elizabeth the Wife of Leonard Wodwar and to the said Leonard Woodwar and to my loving Daughter Mary Kingsford One Guinea of Gold apeice to buy them Rings to be paid to Each of them by my Executors within one Month after my Decease

Item I Give unto my Two Daughters Susanna and Jane the Summe of Three hundred Pounds apeice of lawfull Money of Great Britain to be paid them at such times as my said Wife Mary shall think proper
Item I Give unto my said Wife Mary all my Plate And Linnen to be disposed of to and Amongst my Children as she shall think fitt

Lastly all the rest and residue of my Estate both real and personal not hereinbefore by me disposed of (after my Debts Legacys and Funerall Expences are paid and Satisfyed) I Give Devise and bequeath to my three Sons John William and James Jeken and to their heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever Equally to be divided between them Share and Share alike

and I do hereby make and Appoint my said Wife Mary and my said Son John Jeken Joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made

In Witness whereof to this my last Will and Testament contained in three Sheets of Paper Affixed together to the first and Second Sheets I have Sett my hand and to this last Sheet my hand and Seal this Tenth day of June In the Fifteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc. And in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Forty two.
