In the Name of God Amen I Mary Jeken of the parish of Oxney in the County of Kent widow and Relict of James Jeken late of the same yeoman deceased being of sound Mind Memory and Understanding praised be God do make and declare my last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)

Whereas my said Late Husband by his Will dated on or about the tenth day of June One thousand seven hundred and forty two did Give and Devise certain Lands and Hereditaments in the County of Kent to me for my Life and after my Decease to my three Sons John Jeken William Jeken and James Jeken and their Heirs respectively in such proportions and manner and subject and chargeable as therein mentioned Now I do hereby as far as in me lies Ratify and Confirm the same to them my said sons and their Heirs respectively according to the true Meaning of his said Will

And the said Testator did also by his said Will give to his Daughter Elizabeth the Wife of Leonard Woodwar and to the said Leonard Woodwar and to his Daughter Mary Kingsford One Guinea of Gold apiece and to his two Daughters Susanna and Jane the Sum of Three Hundred pounds apiece of lawfull Money of Great Britain to be paid to them at such Times as I should think proper and he did moreover give to me all his plate and Linnen to be disposed of to and among his Children as I should think fit
And all the Rest of his Estate both Real and personal not therein before by him disposed of after his Debts Legacies and Funeral Expences were paid and satisfied he gave to his said three sons John William and James Jeken their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns equally to be divided between them Share and Share alike and he appointed me and his said son John Jeken Executors of his said Will who since his Death duly proved the same and took upon us the Burden of the Execution thereof
and Whereas my said son John Jeken afterwards received to his own use his third part and Share of the Residue of the said Estate of the said James Jeken the Testator given to him by his said Will and the Remainder of the said Estate is in my Hands to be paid and disposed of according to the true Meaning of the said Will and Whereas the said Legacy of three Hundred pounds given by the said Will to my Daughter the said Susanna now the Wife of James Allen hath been duly paid and the said Legacy of three Hundred pounds thereby given to my Daughter the said Jane Jeken who is unmarried remains to be paid and the remaining two third parts and Shares of the Residue of the said Estate thereby given to my said sons William Jeken and James Jeken remain likewise to be paid to them respectively amounting to the sum of Four Hundred pounds apiece or thereabouts

Now my Will is and I do hereby direct and appoint that the said Sum of Four Hundred pounds apiece shall be paid to them my said sons William Jeken and James Jeken in Discharge of such Residue of the said Testators Estate given to them by his said Will and that the sum of three Hundred pounds shall be paid to my said Daughter Jane in Discharge of the said Legacy of three Hundred pounds thereby given to her in case the same sums shall not be paid to them respectively before my Death in Discharge of such Legacies respectively

And I moreover give to my said son William and my said Daughter Jane the sum of One Hundred pounds apiece
and to my said Daughter Mary now the Wife of Thomas Loud and Susanna Allen the sum of One Hundred pounds apiece
the said severall sums to be paid within Six Kalendar Months next after my Death

Also I Give to my said son James Jeken the sum of One Hundred pounds to be by him his Executors and Administrators placed out and continued at Interest for the sole and seperate Use and Benefit of my said Daughter Elizabeth Woodwar as hereafter mentioned (that is to say) Upon Trust that he the said James Jeken his Executors or Administrators shall and do out of the said principal sum of One Hundred pounds and the growing Interest thereof pay the sum of Five pounds of lawfull Money of Great Britain yearly and every year by half yearly Payments from the day of my Death into the proper Hands of the said Elizabeth Woodwar or unto such person or persons as she by any Note or Writing under her Hand notwithstanding her Coverture shall order direct or appoint the same to be paid To the Intent that the same may be to and for her own sole and separate Use and Disposal and apart from her said Husband or any afer taken Husband who shall have no power over the same nor intermeddle therewith nor shall the same be subject or lyable to any of his or their Debts or Engagements and her Receipt alone under her Hand from time to time without her said Husband or any after taken Husband shall be a full and suficient Discharge to the said James Jeken his Executors or Administrators for the same
And my Will is that such yearly sum of Five pounds shall be paid to and for the Benefit of her my said Daughter Elizabeth as aforesaid until the said sum of One Hundred pounds and the growing Interest thereof and of every part thereof being the Fund of the Payment of the same yearly sum shall be wholly exhausted if she my said Daughter shall so long live
And in case my said Daughter shall happen to die before such Fund shall be exhausted as aforesaid Then the same or such part thereof as at her Death shall remain unpaid as aforesaid shall go and be paid by the said James Jeken his Executors or Administrators unto her three youngest Children Elizabeth Woodwar Jane Woodwar and William Woodwar or such of them as shall be then living equally to be divided between them if more than one

Also I Give to my said son William Jeken a Silver Tankard markt with the Letters M W M C or some such Letters having heretofore disposed of the Rest of the plate and also of the Linnen among my said Children given to me for that purpose by my said Husbands Will
And I Give to my said Daughter Jane the Bed and Furniture Bolster pillows Blankets and Quilt standing and being in the best Chamber of my Dwelling House
And I Give all my Wearing Apparel to my said four Daughters equally to be divivded between them share and share alike
And I give to each of my said seven Children five pounds apiece for Mourning
the said last mentioned Legacies to be paid and delivered within One Kalendar Month after my Decease

And as to all the Rest and Residue of my personal Estate after payment of my Debts Legacies and Funeral Expences And the Charges of proving and executing this my Will I Give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my said son James Jeken whom I nominate and appoint Executor of this my Will

And in order to prevent any Disputes afer my Death touching my Effects and those of my said late Husband which came to my Hands as Executrix or otherwise and for the Ease and Quiet of my Executor my Will is that my said son William and my said Daughters and their Husbands shall respectively within six Kalendar Months after my Decease Seal Execute and deliver unto my said son and Executor James Jeken his Executors Administrators and Assigns good and sufficient Releases and Discharges in the Law under their respective Hands and Seals of and from all or any his her and their Claims and Demands in to or out of my Estate and the personal Estate and Effects of my said late Husband which came to my Hands as Executrix as aforesaid or otherwise howsoever every or any part thereof Except what is herein given and directed to be paid to them respectively as aforesaid
which if they either or any of them shall refuse or neglect to do being thereunto required by my Executor He she or they refusing or neglecting so to do shall have or be intitled to no Legacy or Benefit by this my Will but his her and their Legacy or Legacies so refusing or neglecting shall in that case immediatly thereupon go and be to my said son James Jeken his Executors Administrators and assigns to his and their own Use and Benefit Anything herein contained to the contrary thereof in anywise notwithstanding

And I do hereby Revoke all former Wills by me made and do publish and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained in five sheets of paper set my Hand to the four first sheets thereof and to this last sheet my Hand and Seal the seventeenth day of October in the thirty third year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc And in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Fifty Nine
