This is the Last Will and Testament of me John Jeken of the Town and Port of Dover in the County of Kent Brewer by me made And Published when in good health of Body and of sound Perfect and disposing mind Memory And understanding in manner following that is to say

I give devise and bequeath All that my Messuage Tenement or Dwelling House with the Washouse backside or Garden Ground and Appurtenances thereunto belonging And now used or Occupied therewith situate lying and being in Stroud Street at the Pier in Dover aforesaid And now in my own Occupation unto my beloved Wife Mary Jeken And her Assigns for And during the Term of her natural life if She shall so long continue my Widow

And from and immediately after the decease or next Marriage of my said Wife which shall first happen I give devise and bequeath I give devise and bequeath my said Messuage Tenement Dwelling House and Premises unto my Son Richard Jeken his Executors Admors And Assigns

Also I give and bequeath unto my three Daughters Mary the Wife of Thomas Walker Elizabeth the Wife of Matthew Kennitt and Jane the Wife of George Finnis the Sum of two hundred Pounds Sterling Apiece to be Paid unto them respectively within three Months After the decease or next Marriage of my said Wife

Also I give and bequeath to my said Wife Mary Jeken for and during the Term of her natural life if She shall so long continue my Widow One Annuity or clear Yearly Sum of Twenty Pounds Sterling to be paid her by my Executor hereinafter named by even and equal Quarterly Payments the first Payment to begin and be made upon the second Quarter Day that shall happen next after my decease

Also from and immediately after the decease of my said Wife I give and Devise All that my Piece of Land called Rishborough Field containing by estimation thirty two Acres be thereof more or less lying near Richborough Castle in the Parish of Ash in the said County now in the Occupation of John Wood or his Assigns unto my Son James Jeken his Heirs and Assigns for ever

Also I give Devise And bequeath unto my said Son Richard Jeken his Executors Administrators And Assigns All that my Messuage or Tenement with the Washouse And Garden thereto belonging situate and being in Stroud Street aforesaid and now in his occupation

Also I give Devise and bequeath All other my Real Estate and All other my Messuages Lands and Tenements And Parts and Shares of Real Estate and Leasehold Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments And Also my Brewhouse Brewing Vessells and Implements Stock in Trade and All Other my Goods Chattles And Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever (not hereby otherwise given devised and bequeathed) unto my said Son Richard Jeken his Heirs Executors Administrators And Assigns for ever
subject nevertheless And charged And Chargeable with the Payment of All And every my Debts Funeral And Other incident Expences and the Legacies and Annuity aforesaid

And I hereby nominate And Appoint my said Son Richard Jeken sole Executor of this my Will and revoke all other Wills by me made
And Publish and declare this and no other to be my last Will and Testament in two Sheets of Paper contained have set my hand and Seal the twenty seventh day of May in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Eighty nine John Jeken

(Codicil executed 10 September 1791 gives annuity to maidservant Ann Cosby of ten pounds a year and also one of his little houses for her life
