First I gyve and bequeathe unto Margarete my Lovinge Wyfe my bed and bedsteddle verie well furnished as I do usually lye in it, that is
one good fetherbed, one good flockbed, one good fether bolster, two of my best pillows, two goode Blanketts, one of my best Coverletts, also two
paire of my best sheetes and fouer [4] of my best pillowbeeres
Also I do gyve unto my said wyfe two of my best keene [kine], twoo quarters of good wheate and two quarters of good malt
All w[hi]ch I will that my wyfe shall have delyvered into her by myne Executor wthin six weeks next after my decease
Item I will that the said Margaret my wife shall have the use of all my plate duringe her life, and after her decease I gyve and bequeath the same plate to Thomas Jervis and Edward Jervis my sonnes equally to be devided betweene them
Item my will and meaninge is that the said Margarete my Wyffe shall have & occupie the house and the Lands thereto belonginge wherein I nowe
dwell and which I hold by lease from Sr. Richard Baker, Knight, deceased, so longe as the terme of the said lease shall endure if she her
selfe will dwell in and use the same house and Land
And if the said Margarete my wife do dye before the end of the said lease or if she doe not her selfe dwell in and occupie the said house and
Land Then I will that Edward Jervis my sonne shall have the said lease and all the profitts thereof duringe the terme thereof
Item I will that wthin six weeks after my decease my Executor shall delyv[e]r unto the said Margarete my wife (whome I make Garden [guardian] over my sonne Edward Jervis) unto the use of the said Edward Jervis my sonne, my second best bedstedle nowe standinge in the Guests chamber of my house where I nowe dwell with one good fetherbed, two good blanketts, two paire of sheets, one good bolster, two good pillowes, two pillowbeeres and one good coverlet
Item I gyve and bequeath unto Sarah my daughter the some of one hundreth pounds of good Englishe mony to be paid to her by myne Executor
w[i]thin thirtie weeks next after my decease
Item I also gyve and bequeathe unto the same Sarah my daughter one hundreth pounds more of like lawfull mony of England to be paid to her by mye
said Executor wthin two yeares next after my decease
Item I gyve and bequeathe unto Annah my daughter the some of fortie pounds of good and lawfull monye of England to be paid to her by myne Executor wthin three monethes next after my decease
The Residue of all my goods and Chattells, my debts, legacies and funerall expenses beinge satisfied, contended & paid I will, gyve and bequeathe unto the said Thomas Jervis my sonne whome I make my sole Executor of this my present Testament and Last will, revokinge all former wills by me made
This is the Last Will and Testament of me the said Edward Jervis made and by me declared as towchinge the disposinge of all my Landes and tenements scituate lyeinge and beinge wthin the Countie of Kent
First I gyve and bequeathe unto the said Thomas Jervis my sonne one Annuytie or yearely rent charge of sixteene pounds p Annum yssueinge & goeinge out of all the Lands and Ten'ts of Thomas Godfrey, late of Lidd Yeoman deceased and Peter Godfrey his sonne or out of the Lands of the one of them as by his or theire graunte of the same by deeds unto me more playnelye doth ad maye appeare Together wthall such Conveyanc[e]s as I have concerninge the same Annuyitie To be had to him and to his heires for ever together wthall the arrerages of the same Annuytie behinde and due unto me
Item I gyve and bequeathe unto Thomasine my Daughter all my Lands lyeinge and beeinge in
Woodchurche in the said Countie of Kent To have and to hold to her and her heires for ever
And I appointe that my Executor shall delyver unto her all the Evidences which I have concerninge the
same Lands The which Lands I do gyve unto my said daughter Thomasine and her heires on this
Condition that she or her heires or assignes doe wthin one yeare next after my decease paye or cause
to be paid unto the said Annah my Daughter the some of foure score pounds of Lawfull mony of England
Item I gyve and bequeathe to the said Annah my Daughter and to her heires for ever one peice of woodland lyeinge in Tenterden aforesaid which I lately purchased of John Tylden of Tenterden aforesaid, Jurate, wth the Conveyancs that I have concerninge the said woodland
In witnes whereof I the said Edward Jervis have caused this my will to be made and have published
as my Testament and Last will and have to the first sheete of this my will sett my hand and to this
sheete thereof my hand and seale the daye and yeare first above written

Edward Jervis, Jurate was buried the third day of October [1603] at Tenterden.
Edward Gervis was baptised 16 Feb 1649/50, s. of William at Tenterden, Kent.
