In the name of God Amen the thirde day of October, the yeare of our Lord God a thowasand fyve hundrethe Seaventy & fouer
I Andrewe Joode of Sturmouth in the County of Kente Yeoman beynge syck in bodye, but whole in mynde & of good & perfett remembrance God be therfore thanked doe ordayne and make this my p[re]sent Testament Concernynge herein my last wyll in manner & forme followinge
And fyrst I bequethe my Sowle to allmightye God my maker & redeamer and my body to the earthe

Item I bequeth to Agnes my welbeloved wyef to croppe her ground wyth all belongynge to her messuage in the paryshe of Ashe Tenne Seames of good seede wheate, tenne seames of good seede Barlye and three Seames of good seede pease wyth a Seame of ottes
Item I gyve more to my sayd wyef Syxe Indifferent good kyne, three Indifferent good choese beasts, twentye ewes to be taken as they come in the flock, one tyinynge Sowe, fower baken hoggs & fyve lyveware
Item I gyve also to my sayde wyef two good fetherbedds, a matresse, iij blanketts, one coverlett, three bolsters, three pyllowes, Tenne payer of sheets, three bedstedells now beinge at her sayd messuage at heden in Ashe aforesayd, & she to have her choyse Two cheasts whereof there is a shipp chest & the other a Joyned chest openynge in the myddest, standinge in the chamber wherein I now lye

Item I gyve lykewyse to my sayde wyef two dozen of Pewter, that is to wytt, twelve platters, eight pewter disshes and fouer Sawsers, halfe a dozen of latten candlestycks, two salt sellers & a chafyng dyshe, The biggest brasse pott w[hi]ch I have savynge two, two lesser potts, a stupnett, the byggest keatle or panne in my howse savinge one, two Copper keatells, a tryvett, three pyllow coats
Item I gyve moreover to my sayd wyef a maser edged with sylver, & Syxe Sylver spones whole & sounde wch were her Fathers
Item I gyve yet more to my sayd wyef fyve seames or malte & two seames of wheate

Item I gyve and bequethe to my daughter Elizabethe Joode one hundrethe marks of lawfull money of England the one halfe thereof to be payde at the daye of her marryage & the other halfe that daye twelve months after, yf she shall happen so longe to lyve
Item I gyve to my daughter Margery one other hundrethe marks of lyke lawfull money of England the one halfe thereof to be lykewyse payde at the daye of her marryage, and the other halfe that daye twelve months after, yf she shall happen so longe to lyve

Item I gyve to Rychard Joode my eldest sonne threescore weathers [sheep] whereof fortye to be taken owte of my stock goinge with Henry Foche and twentye owte of the stock goinge with Marshe
Item I gyve to them moreover one twelve monthinge hors colte beinge redd and the thirde parte of all my plate

Item I gyve to my sayde sonne Rychard Joode and Wyllyam Joode his brother all my interest and terme of yeares which I have yett to come of and in one p[ar]cell of marshe lande lyenge in Asshe, pcell of the Demeanes [Demesnes] belongynge to the mannor of Barton Wyngham To be equallye Devyded betwixe them, Exceptynge one pcell thereof Enclosed cont[aining] by estymacton twentye and one acres, lyenge next to the bridge of the Drove waye there wch I wyll that my wyef durynge the tyme that she shall dwell in her ferme or messuage at Haden

Item I gyve and bequeth to my sonne Stephen Joode syxet kyne good & indifferent syxe horses and mares, three score weathers, whereof fortye to be taken owte of my stocke going with Henrye Foce and twenty owte of my Flock going wth Marshe, and all my swynne not bequethed

Item I gyve and bequethe to Joane Joode my Daughter fouer pounds of lawfull money of England yearlye yf she survyve & overlyve Henry Foche her husband durynge her naturall lyef yf she keape her selfe unmarryed To be payde owte of my lands and Tenements or ells twentye pounds of Lawfull money of England at her choysse
And for defaulte of payment of the sayd fouer pounds after twentye shillings a yeare, quarterly at the Feastes of the Natyvye or o[u]r Lord God, the Anuncyacyon of our Ladye, the Natyvye of St. John the Baptyst and St. Mychaell the Archangell by even porcyons, ytt shall be Lawfull for her to dystrayne in the same lands or Tenements

Item I gyve to the poore people wthin the paryshe of Sturmouthe, That is to wytt, To Rychard Burlye my servante, the farme of his howse for one whoole yeare, fyve bushells of sede wheate and half a seame of Barlye And I forgyve hym all that he owethe mee
Item I wyll to John Godfrye, Wyllyam Butler, John Lygham, Clement Forman, everye one of them one acre of podware gratton to sowe wheate uppon for this yeare, payenge nothinge therfore
Item I wyll to Thomas Cowper, John Cowper, Wyllyam Owdaye and Anthonye Moore eche of them an acre of lande to sowe barlye in payenge nothinge therfore for this yeare
Item I gyve moreover to John Moore and Randall Colesnock to eche of them twentye shillings of Lawfull money of England To be payde within one quarter of a yeare next after my decease

Item I gyve to Andrewe Cock my godson two younge kyne when he shall come to his age of eightene yeares
Item to Thomas Fyssher and Sara Denne my servants to everye of them three shillings and fouer pence of Lawfull money of England To be payd them ymedyatlye after my decease
Item to Andrew Lyngham my godson the ocupyenge of a percell of marshe called Rushe Marshe, conteyninge by estymatyon three acres for one yeare next after my Decease, payenge nothinge therfore

Item I geve and bequeth to Stephen Joode my sonne all my interest and terme of yeares wch I have yett to come of and in my Farme called Groves Place wyth all the lands & therunto belongynge wch I holde of Mr. Edmond Rogers
Item I gyve more to the sayd Stephen my Sonne all my Interest and terme of yeares wch I have lykewyse to come in my lease called Hardland lyenge in the paryshe of Preston
Item I gyve moreover to my Sonne Rychard Joode twoe seames of wheate in recompence of fyftyne shillings which he lente me

The Resydewe of all my goods not bequethed I wholye gyve to Wyllyam Joode and Stephen Joode my Sonnes whome wyth my Sonne Rychard Joode I ordayne and make myne Executors of this my prsent Testament and last wyll
And my welbeloved frynde Mr. Serjante Lovelace my ov[e]rseer To whome I gyve for his paynes herein to be taken a fyve pownds of Lawfull money of England To be payde equallye by my sayde Three Sonnes

And yf any thinge in this my wyll and Testament be not conformable to Lawe, The my mynde and desyre is that my verye frynde Mr. Serjante Lovelace to reduce the same unto such good order as by lawe shall be allowed, chardgynge my sayde wyef and children to stande to that his determynatyonand order aswell towchinge my lands as noveables, the same to be employed to the use of my sayd wyef and children

Provyded all wayes and my wyll and mynd ys That yf any of my sayd Sonnes shall refuse to take uppon him the Executyon of this my last wyll and Testament Then my mynde and Wyll ys that he shall be voyde of all my gyfts and legacyes gyven to hymin this my p[re]sente Testament either in moveables or Landes

Thys ys the last wyll and Testament of me the sayd Andrewe Joode consernynge the disposytyon of all my lands and Tenements

And first my wyll and mynde is that Rychard Joode my eldest Sonne shall have my Tenement and landes in Wyckhambrux for (the) Terme of his naturall lyef Uppon condycyon that he doe paye or cause to be payde to his mother yearly duringe her naturall lyef fyve pounds of lawfull money of England at the feasts of the byrthe of our lord God, the Anunciatyon of our ladye St. Marye the Vyrgyn, The natyvytye of St. John the Baptist, and St. Mychaell the archanngell by even porcyons or wthin twentye dayes nexte after everye of the sayd Feastes
And after his decease I wyll that Andrewe Joode his Sonne and my godson shall have the sayd Tenements and lands in Wyckham Brux to hym and his heyers for ever Uppon condycyon that he do not sell the sayd Ten[emen]te and lands nor any parte or p[ar]cell of the same durynge his Fathers lyef And yf he soe doe he shall be voyde of this my gyfte therof
Item I gyve moreover to my sayde Sonne Richard my Tenement and lands in Herne, to hym and his heyers for ever

Item I gyve to Wyllyam Joode my Sonn one lytle Tenement in Sturmouth now in the tenure of Rychard Burlye and all my Lands in Sturmouthe wch I purchased of Thomas Arundle gentleman and one p[ar]cell of Marsheland there conteyninge by estymatyon seaven acres, pcell of Codmare marshe To hym and hys heyers for ever uppon condycyon that he do paye lykewyse or cause to be payde to Agnes my wyef hys mother yearlye Durynge her naturall Lyef Syxe pounds of Lawfull money of England at the feasts or tymes of payment above lymytted

Item I gyve to Stephen Joode my Sonne one Tenement in Canterburye lyenge in Trytenton Lane and all the Resydewe of my lands before not bequethed Lyenge in Sturmouthe and fyve acres be yt more or lesse lyenge in Preston wch I bought of the sayd Thomas Arundle gentleman To have and to holde all the same lands and Tenements to them and his heyers for ever uppon lyke condycyon that he do paye of cause to be payde yearlye to his sayd mother three pounds of Lawfull moneye of England durynge her naturall Lyef in such manner as ys aforesayde

Item my will and mynd ys that after the Decease of Agnes my wyef, Stephen my sayd Sonne shall have and enyoye to hym & his heyers for ever my Tenement and lands at Hoden gyven to me, my sayd wyef & hym by Father Mote both by his dede and wyll
And yf any of my other two Sonnes or bothe shall hinder, troble or otherwise molest Stephen my Sonne for terme of his lyef or his heyers Concerninge my sayde Tenement and lands at Hoden, Then my wyll and mynde ys That they or any of them soe offendynge shall loose all their porcyons to them therein by me lymyted, gyven and bequethed
