In the name of God Amen : The fifte daye of Januarye anno dini 1607(/08)
I Andrewe Joade of the parishe of Stowermouth in the Cowntie of Kent, Yeoman being sicke in bodye, but of good & pfecte memorye, thanckes bee to God, doe make & ordeyne this my Last will and testament in manner and forme followeing :
First I bequeathe my soule to Allmightie God, trusting by the deathe & passion of my onelie Saviour Jesus Christ to have full remission and forgyvenes of all my synnes, and my bodie I comitt to the earthe from whence it came

Item I gyve to the poore of the p[ar]ishe of Stowermouthe fyve powndes of lawfull moneye of England
Item I gyve to my three brothers John, William and Stephen fyve pownds a peece of like money
Item I gyve unto my Sister Trowder fyve pownds of like money
Item I gyve unto my Sister Holnes fyve pownds of like money
Item I gyve unto every one of my man servannts and maide servannts three shillings fower pence a peece

Item I gyve unto Margarett my daughter twoe hundreth pownds of like moneye to bee payde her at her age of eighteene yeeres
Item Item my will is that if Margarett my wife bee wth Childe of it Mayden Child, that then I gyve her two hundreth pownds of lawfull money of England to bee payde her at her age of eighteen yeeres
And yf any of them bothe shall dye, then my meaneing ys that shee that survivethe shall have the others portion; And yf they both dye, twoe hundreth pounds thereif to remayne to my sonne or sonnes then lyveinge

Item my will is that yf my wife shall marrye againe shee shall put in sufficient bind to Lawrence Roner?, Thomas Readwood and Henrye Austen or to the Survivor of them or any of them for the payment of the sayde moneye gyven to my twoe daughters.

The residue of all my moveable goodes and chattelles my debtes payde my legacies pformed and my funerall expences discharged I gyve unto Margarett my Wife whome I make my Executrix of this my last will and testament
& I desire Valentyne Austen to bee overseer of the same whoe is my father in lawe

This is the last will and testament of mee the sayde Andrewe Joade of my landes, tenementes and hereditaments

First I will unto Margaret my wife all my lands tenements & hereditaments untill William my sonne shall accomplishe the age of one and twentye yeeres, I will and gyve them all my sayde landes & tenements & hereditaments unto William my sonne and his heires for ever

Further my will and mynde is that yf Margarett my wife bee with Childe of a man Childe, that then I will unto him the one halfe of all my sayde landes, tenements and hereditaments when hee shall accomplishe the age of one and twentye yeeres to him and to his heires forever

And further my will and meaning is that after my sayde sonne or sonnes shall accomplishe his or theire severall ages of one and twentye yeeres, that Margarett my wife shall have one annuitye or yeerelie rent out of all my lands, tenementes and hereditaments of fowertye pounds of lawfull money of England a yeere yeerely to bee payde and proyved to her and her assignes dureing her naturall life at twoe usuall feasts in the yeare, videl[ice]t at the feast of thannutiation of o[u]r Ladye and St. Michaell tharchangell by even portions
And if it happen the sayde yeerlye rent of fowrtye pownds a yeere of lawfull money of Englnad to be behinde or unpayde by the space of fourteene dayes after any of the saide feasts dayes in wch it ought to bee payde, that then and soe often as defaulte shalbee made in payment of the sayde Annuitie or any parte thereof, yt shalbee lawfull to the sayde Margarett my Wife or her assignes to enter into all my lands and tenements and hereditaments or any parte or p[ar]cell thereof and to distrayne and the distresse or distresses there soe taken in her custodye ovre pledgablie to holde and keepe untill the sayde yeerlie rent and the arrerages thereof shalbee fullie satisfied and payde

And yf alle of my children doe dye wthout yssue of their bodyes lawfullye begotten, then I will all my sayde lands tenements and hereditaments unto my three brothers John, William and Stephen and to theire heires for ever, after suche tyme as my Children might have accomplished their severall ages as aforesaid and Margarett my sayde wife to have her Annuytye yeerlye of fourtie pounds a yeare as aforesaide

Notes:
Andrewe Joade was buried at All Saints, Stourmouth, Kent on 14th January 1607/08.
Andrew Joade, yeoman & Martha Joade, spinster, both of Stourmouth married by licence 18th December 1599 at Stourmouth. (Bondswoman Margery Joade, widow of Stourmouth)
Martha Joade the wife of Andrew was buried 28th September 1602, at Stourmouth.
Andrew Joade re-married 24th January 1602/3 to Margaret Austen, at Stourmouth.
Daughter Margaret Joade was baptised 20th November 1603 at Stourmouth.
Son William was baptised 14th February 1606/07.
