This is the Last Will and Testament of me Elizabeth Johnson of Horton Kirby in the County of Kent Widow
First and Principally I do with all humility resign up my poor and immortal Soul unto the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping through the Merits Death and Passion of my dear Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ to have and receive full pardon and forgiveness of all my Sins and my body I Commit to the Earth to be decently buried in the Church yard of Horton Kirby in the said County of Kent at the discretion of my Executors herein after named And as for such Worldly Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I Give ad dispose thereof in manner and form following (that is to say)

I will and direct that all such debts as I shall Owe at the time of my decease shall be paid and discharged by my Executrix herein after named with all convenient speed after my death

Also I Give Will and bequeath all that my Moiety or half part of in and to all those Leasehold Messuages or Tenements with the Ground Buildings and Appurtenances given to me in and by the Last will and Testament of my late Aunt Susanna Hopkins deceased situate in Woolwich in the said County of Kent
And also all my Money and Securities for Moneys Goods Chattels and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and also all my real Estate whatsoever in possession Reversion remainder or Expectancy which I have power to and can dispose of unto my Honoured Mother Elizabeth Muggeridge, my Aunt Joyce Williams and my Loving Brother William Muggeridge their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns

In Trust nevertheless for the benefit of my dear daughter Elizabeth Johnson and the Issue of her body Lawfully to be begotten
but in case my said daughter shall happen to dye under the age of Twenty one years without Child or Children Lawfully begotten then I give will devise and bequeath all my before mentioned Estates unto my Brother William Muggeridge his Heirs Executors Admors. and assigns if he shall be then living

But if he shall be then dead then In Trust for and I Give devise and bequeath the same unto and to the use of all and every the Child and Children of my said Brother their his or her Heirs Executors or Administrators equally (if more than one) share and share alike
and for default or in want of such Issue of my said Brother then In Trust for and I Give devise and bequeath the same unto and to the use of my said Mother Elizabeth Muggeridge her Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns

Also I Give will and devise the Guardianship of my said dear daughter unto my said Mother Elizabeth Muggeridge my said Aunt Joyce Williams and my Brother the said William Muggeridge during her Minority

And I hereby make nominate and appoint my said Mother Sole Executrix of this my Will and revoking all former wills I declare this only to be my Last Will and Testament

I Elizabeth Johnson within named do hereby order direct and require the Trustees named in my Will to pay Transfer and Assign all my Leasehold and Personal Estate unto my dear daughter Elizabeth Johnson at her Age of Twenty one years of day of Marriage which shall first happen provided such Marriage be with he Approbation of the Major part of my said Trustees

I also give to my Good Friends Mr. Edward Smith and Sarah his Wife each of them a Mourning Ring
and I desire this may be taken as part of my Last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty third day of March 1766

19th August 1766
Appeared Personally Thomas Williams of Dartford in the County of Kent Gentleman and made Oath on the Holy Evangelists that he is one of the Subscribed Witnesses to the Last Will and Testament and Codicil of Elizabeth Johnson late of Horton Kirby in the said County Widow deceased hereunto annexed and that the Interlineations now appearing between the Sixth and seventh Lines from the Top of the Second Side of the said Will and the Obliteration appearing in the said Seventh and following Line were interlined and Obliterated in manner as thereon now appears before the Execution of the said Will and pursuant to the Intention of the said deceased

The same day the said Thomas Williams was sworn to the truth of the above Affidavit before me Jno Simpson Surrogate.

On the twenty sixth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Sixty six Administration (with the Will and Codicil annexed) of the Goods Chattels and Credits of Elizabeth Johnson late of Horton Kirby in the County of Kent Widow deceased was granted to Joyce Williams (Wife of Thomas Williams) the Aunt and one of the universal Legatees In Trust named in the said Will having been first sworn duly to administer
Elizabeth Muggeridge widow the Mother of the said deceased and Sole Executrix named in the said Will having First renounced the Execution thereof Exd.
