Folkestone March 29 1762
I Jno Jordan of the Town of Folkestone in the County of Kent Surgeon finding myself grow weak in body but sound in mind do declare this to be my last Will and Testament

Imprimis I give and bequeath to my Brother Henry all those Houses or Tenements belonging unto and in the parish of Hawkinge and now in the occupation of Will Lad and others

I give to my Brother William the Sum of three hundred pounds as it now lies in the four P cent Annuitys in consideration of the smallness of his Income the little prospect he has of having it advanced and the Expensiveness of the place in which he lives

I give to my two Eldest Sisters Frances and Catherine the sum of one hundred pounds each as it now lies in the four P cent Annuitys in consideration of the trouble I have given them on many Occasions

To my Brother Basil I give all my Books and Instruments in Surgery all my Medicines Bottles Galleypots and whatever relates to my Business but as these things will be of little use to him till he has been more thoroughly instructed in his Business I would advise him not to practice with them till that time is over
I also give him all my Book debts and whatever Money may be owing me in relation to my Business and to fit him completely for his Business I likewise give him my Mare all my China I likewise give him except my largest Bowl and my China Images the former of which I give to my Brother Henry and the latter to my two Eldest Sisters

I give to my Brother Thomas to my Sister Alice and to my Brother Richard the Sum of twenty pounds each and to my Brother Henry the Sum of ten pounds which will pretty nearly account for what money I am worth

To my brother William I give that Steel mounted Gun he bought for me some time ago and likewise my Watch if he thinks it worth his Acceptance
and to my Brother Tom I give my Gold Shirt Buttons which were a Gift to me from my Mother and which I have long worn for her sake,

to pay the four small Legacies one hundred pounds must be sold from the six hundred I have in the 4 pcent Annuities the remainder of the Money to go towards the necessary Expences that will occur

Lastly I do appoint my Brothers Henry and William to be my joint Executors of this my last Will and Testament Jno Jordan Junr
