I John Joslin of London Wharf High Street Chatham Hoyman and Coal Merchant do declare this to be my last Will and Testament

First I desire that immediately after my funeral all monies and accounts due to me shall be collected
and also all my lands houses ships vessels boats furniture chattels and all my property real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever shall be immediately sold and whatsoever sum or sums of money may be received by virtue of such sale or sales shall be appropriated as follows

First I desire that my funeral expences and all my just debts and also that �20 say twenty pounds shall be paid to my Sister Frances Pledge with as little delay as possible

and then that whatever the Residue may be after such payments shall have been made shall be divided in equal proportions between my niece Elizabeth Bradley now living with me and Miss Mary Clout my present housekeeper
but in the event of the death of either before myself then I desire that the whole residue after the payment of my funeral expences my just debts and the twenty pounds to my Sister shall be paid to the survivor

and I hereby appoint the above named Miss Mary Clout my housekeeper and Elizabeth Bradley my niece Executrixes of this my last Will and Testament Given under my hand this twenty fifth day of July one thousand eight hundred & forty John Joslin
