Will of Ann Kadwell

of Benenden, Kent

I appoint James Kadwell of the Parish of Rolvenden my Brother in law and George Jones of the Parish of Hastings my Nephew as Executors of my said Will

First let Robt receive 20� for his faithful service during the time I was in the Farm after the death of his dear Father and Ann 30� for her faithful service and attention through a long series of illness
I should have said let my just debts .. be paid funeral Expences administering to the Will etc. after which let Robt & Ann receive the money as stated above then let the remainder of my money be distributed equal amongst all my Children

let the Furniture be distributed as follows
First Sarah Oak Wainscott dining Table Tea Chest Elbow Chair 12 Gallon barrells one little blanket Mahoganey Waiter six Dark blue edged Plates low Chair 1 dozen of Glass Bottles and 1 quarter of linen and wearing apparel
2 Luisa Mahogany Chest of Drawers 5 Wine Glasses one Quarter of linen one quarter of linen and wearing apparel
3 Williams Wife silk umbrella and Mourning Ring
4 Robert Mahoganey corner cupboard large swing Glass silver Watch 1 dozen of Glass Bottles & Smoaking Chair
5 Jane the New Quilt Pair of Blankets wash hand stand Bason and Ewer 1 quarter of linen and wearing apparel
6 William Thrift son of John and Sarah Thrift Deal Chest
7 Ann the remainder of the Furniture 1 quarter of linen and wearing apparel

if it is not in the power of Robt Kadwell to pay the money he holds of his Mothers at her death he shall be allowed 2 years to pay the same with interest at five Pr cent Pr annum

I also appoint Mr James Kadwell and Mr James Shoobridge to divide the wearing apparel as equal as they can between my Daughters
It is also my desire that as I with my dear departed Husband laboured hard for many years for the few pounds I am shortly about to leave that my Children do all in their power to live together in harmony and love and if at the reading of this my Will or at any time before matters are settled any dispute or quarrelling arise from one or more of the Family such branch or branches thereof to receive only one shilling each which I wish to be left to the judgement of the Executors
