This is the last Will of me the sayd John Kempe made the day and yer above Written and the third yer of the reygne of King Harry the viijth of and upon all my houses and tents. [tenements] with the appurtenances in whyche tents. [the] sayd Thomas Eston and John Mathue [Matthew] possessed
First I will my said feffes [feofees] shall suffer Johanne my wife to have hold and enioye all my land and tents. till [the] tyme my son Stephen shall come to lawfull age and [when] he shall come to the saide age he shall have 2 semes of whete 2 semes [of] Barley
Also I will my said feffes shall enfeffe Stephen my sone in my said Tents. and lands when he
shall come to thage [the age] aforesaid havying and holdying to him to his heyrs for ever
and if yt shall fortune the sayd Stephen my Son decease or not come to the sayd age having none
ussue of his body lawfully begotten that then I will my said daughters shall have my said tents.
and landes and all his parte and if it so fortune that all my said Childryn die with yssue yn the
age have none yssue of ther bodes lawfully begotten that then my said feffes shall selle all my
said landes and tents. with the apprts. [appurtenances] to hym that will yeme most therfor and I
will iit shall be disposed in this forme following
First to my honest prest [priest] to syng for the helth of my Soule & for my friends [souls] and all christen [souls] in the said churche unto the summe of 5lt [£5] and to the sowle svans [servants?] xxvis viijd and vjs viijd to the power pepill [poor people] and all the residues to the churche work
Also I will my said feffes shall sele an acre of land at northedowne to paye my detts and bequeaths
Also I will that my said daughter shall have ether of theyme [a] payre of shetes and ether of
theym a brassepott and either of theyme a plate of pewter
Also I will that my moder [mother] shall have ijs a yer [for the] terme of [her] life and if they will not pay the same said ijs yerly I will she shall enter into the yard of land at Hamediche
Item I bequeath to eche of my executors for thier labor xijd
