In the name of God Amen the xxxth daie of Jannuarye in the yere of our Lorde God, a thousand fyve hundreth threscore and fyve [1565], and in the eighte yere of the Raigne of our Soveeraigne Ladie Elizabeth, by the grace of God of Englande France and Irelande, Queene defender of the faithe, etc.
I Juliane Kempe of the parryshe of Egertonne in the Countye of Kente, beinge hole of minde and perfecte remembrannce, laude and praise be given to Allmightie God therefore, do ordeine and make this my present testament and last will in manner and fourme followinge
Frst I bequeath my Sowle into the handes of Allmighty God my maker and redeemer, and my bodie to be buryed in the churche yarde of Egertonne aforesaide

Item I will unto Richard Tuesnoth (?) that dwelleth wth Pell of Smarden my Chest that was at my Maister Burwasshe to (be) delivered to hym when he commeth to the age of xij yeres

Item I will unto Thomas Bachiler [Batchelor] of Charinge the cooper Syxe poundes thirteene shillinges and viijd the which was willed unto my [me] the said Juliane, by the laste will of Henry Baycote of Smarden last decessed [deceased]

Item I will into the saide Thomas vjs viijd the which is in the handes of John Baker of Smarden

The residue of all my goodes my debtts paide and my Legacies performmed I give and bequeath unto the said Thomas Bachiler whom I do ordeine and make my Executor to see this my present Testament and laste will performed and fulfilled

to this Wyttnes Thomas Burwasshe - Jser Burwasshe and Katherine Monnk Exd.

Probatum fuit: 2nd Aprilis 1565.

Notes: Annoyingly, parish registers for St. James, Egerton do not commence until 1569.
