In the name of God Amen the fowerth day of October Anno Dini One Thousand fyve hundrethe Seventye nyne [1579] & in the xxj yeare of the raigne of our Sovereigne Lady Elizabeth by ye grace of God of England Frannce and Irelande Queene defendres [defender] of the faithe, etc.
I Thomas Kempe of Kennorton [Kenardington] in the dioces of Canterbury doe ordaine and macke this my laste will & testamente in manner & forme followinge
Fyrste I bequeathe my soule into (the) hands of amighty god my body to be buried in the churche yarde of Kennorton (sic) aforesaide

Item I geve to the use of the pore menns boxe in Kenerton aforesaide iijs iiijd
Item I give to Emme my daughter xil xiijs iiijd to be paied to her at her age of xviij yeres
Item I give to Judethe my daughter xil xiijs iiijd to be paied to her at her age of xviij yeres
Item I give to Johan my daughter xil xiijs iiijd to be paied to her at her age of xviij yeres

Also I will that yf any of my saide daughters dye before the saide age of viij yeares then I withh that the other ij of my daughters then lyvinge shall have this my legacye willed to her so depted [departed] equally devided and paied unto them at theire ages above rehersed of xviij yeares

Also I will that yf ij of my my saide daughters dye before theire saide ages of xviij yeares then I will that my executrix herein under named shalbe clearly dyscharged of payenge xil xiijs iiijd willed to one of my saide daughters & that my daughter then lyvinge shall have one whole legacye of xil xiijs iiijd together wth the legacye willed before to her and shall have xil xiijs iiijd paid unto her at her saide age of xviij yeares

Also I will that yf all my saide daughters dye before theire saide ages then I will that my executrix here under named shalbe clearly discharged of payenge the saide legacyes

The residues of all my goods & cattells my deabtes & legacyes paied I geve to Agnes my wife whome I make sole executrix

Also I will that Agnes my executrix shalbe charged with the bringinge up of my saide three daughters of her owne charges untyll they & every of them come unto there ages of xviij yeares

Notes:
Thomas Kempe was buried at St. Mary, Kenardington on 7th October 1579.
Thomas Kempe married Annis Wood 7th May 1566 at Kenardington. Both were otp.
11th Feb 1577 John, s. of Thomas Kempe, was christened at Kenardington.
The above are the only events in the parish registers for Kenardington, which is sandwiched between Woodchurch, Warehorne and Appledore.
