In the name of God Amen The thirde day of Aprill in the xxiiijth [24th] yere of the Raigne of our Sovraigne Lady Elizabethe by the grace of God Quene of England France and Ireland, etc. [1582]
I Joane Kempe of the p�ish [parish] of St. Nicholas Atwade in the yle [Isle] of Thanet And in the Countye of Kent Being sicke in bodye But whole and sounde of memorye mynd (Thanks be to God therefore) do make my last Will and testament in maner and forme following
First I bequeathe my soule into the handes of Allmightie God by whose deathe and passion I take to be saved And my bodye to be buryed in the Churcheyard of St. Nicolas aforesaid

And I do make my sonne Thomas Backe my executor of this my last will and Testament and he to discharge my detts and legacyes

Item I geve and bequeathe to my Daughter Margery Rooke ij kine young and of good bone To be delivered to her at her age of xviij (18) yeres

Item I geve to my daughter Mary Morris one kyne to be paid unto her in like order

The rest of my goodes unbequeathed my detts and legacyes being paid I will unto my executor and he to keep my two daughters and my sonne in lawe Henry Kempe till they come (to) ther porcons

Probatum fuit: 7th June 1582.

John Kempe married Joane Morris 16th August 1564 at St. Nicholas at Wade. Her burial is not found there.
