This is the last will and testament of me Robert Kempe Fisherman
First I bequeath my soule unto the Allmightie God and my body to be buried in the Church yarde of Lydd, and as for my moveable goods

I give and bequeath all my household stuffe unto Suzan my wife now in my house and not given afterwards
I give to my sonne George Kempe my bedstedle now at the Joyners and my gowne
I give unto Margaret Kempe the daughter of my sonne George Kempe xxijs [22 shillings]
I give unto George Kempe sonne unto George Kempe my sonne xxijs [22 shillings]

I give unto John Kempe sonne unto George Kempe Tenn pounds
And I will that my godfather Stroughill * shall have to doe with that I doe give to him till he come to the age of one and twenty yeares for John Kempe�s most advantage.
* The �Struggle� (sic) family of Lydd were repeatedly Jurats of Lydd.

And I give to Suzan my wife and to John Kempe abovesaid all that mony that is or shall be due to me this Forattaige Season for Parcells equally to be devided

I give unto Suzan my wife my house standinge at Shesland?
I give to John Kempe abovesaid my cabine at Wesland
I give to Suzan my wife one man full of flowes? and three spratt netts
I give unto John Kempe abovesaid all the rest of my flowes and Spratt netts and my Boate and Cable and all the implements belonginge to my Boate

I give to Suzan my wife one yarde of hempe and my suckling ewe
I give to James Tomson my father (in law) one paire of breeches and a jerkine

and all the rest of my moveable goods not given and bequeath I give unto Suzan my wife paying my debts and bequeathes
and doe make her my sole Executor (!) of this my last will & Testament

In Witnes whereof I have sett to my marke and Seale the eleaventh day of December 1615
The marke of Robert Kempe

Sealed and delivered in the presence of James Bate and John Kipinge his marke

Probatum fuit: xxvj die Aprilis 1616

Notes:
Robert Kempe was christened Dec. 1563 at All Saints, Lydd, s. of Robert Kempe.
Robert Kempe married (firstly) Joan Dale on 20th August 1582 at Lydd. Her burial is not, as yet, found. Robert Kempe married (secondly) Susan Thomsen 7th November 1608 at Lydd.
Robert Kempe was buried at Lydd on 15th Dec. 1615.

PRC 32/48/298 Will of George Kempe, Fisherman of Lydd, Dated 13th March 1630(1) who was buried there on 16th March and whose Will was Proved on 19th April 1630(1).
Son George Kempe seems to have married three times:
(1) Susan Hollan(d)? 9 Apr 1605, All Saints, Lydd
(2) Mary Wade 4 Feb 1612, All Saints, Lydd
(3) Agnes Winster 27 May 1617, St. Mary Bredman, Canterbury (by Licence) He: Fisherman; both of Lydd

Possible children (all christened at Lydd):
Robert 6 Oct 1611; Margaret 8 Jan 1615; Robert 3 May 1618; Thomas 17 Dec 1620; Jone 4 Jan 1624; Andrew 17 Apr 1625. Sons: John, James and George not found.
