In the name of God Amen
I Johan Kempe widdow late ye wife of William Kempe of St. Dunstan�s neere Canterbury in ye countie of Kent deceased the twentieth day of May in ye yeare of our Lord God 1616 being sicke in body but of good and perfect remembrance, thanks be given unto God, doe make this my last will and testament in manner and forme folowing
First I bequeath my soule into the handes of Almightie God my maker assuring myselfe to have life everlasting by and through the death and passion of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
And my body to the earth from whence it came, decentlie to be buried

Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Susan the wife of Thomas Cowland all my goods Leases chattells implements of houshold and money whatsoever and all my houses in St. Dunstans wth thappurtenances [with the appurtenances] unto ye said Susan and her heires for ever

And of this my last will and test. [testament] I make ye said Thomas Cowland my Executor

In Witnes whereof I the said Johan Kempe to theis p�ntes [these presents] have set my marke and seale ye day and yeare above written

Notes:
William Kempe married Joane Terrie 13th October 1574 at St. Dunstan, Canterbury.
Her burial is not, currently, found. Daughter Susan�s christening is also not found, nor her marriage to a Thomas Cowland (or anyone or anywhere else in Kent).
