In the name of God Amen this fifth day of April in the first year of the Reign of King George over Great Britain Anno Dini 1715
I William Kemp of Ramsgate in the Isle of Thanet in the County of Kent Mariner being of sound and perfect mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of this transitory life do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following / That is to say /
First and principally I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping to be saved through the merits Death and Passion of Resurrection of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and my body I commit to the Earth or Seas as opportunity shall serve and as touching such Worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with I will and dispose of the same as followeth

I give and bequeath unto my son George Kemp the full sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain for him therewith to buy a mourning ring to be paid unto him at or before the end of one whole year after my decease by my executor hereafter named

Item I give and bequeath unto my son Henry Kemp the sum of one pound of Lawful money of Great Britain to buy therewith a mourning Ring to be paid to him at or before the end of one whole year after my decease by my executor hereafter named

All the rest of my personal estate my ready money wages sum and sums of money lands tenements goods chattells and estate whatsoever wherewith at the time of my decease I shall be possessed or interested in or which shall then belong and of right appointment unto me I do give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth Kemp
whom I hereby make full and sole Executrix of this my last will and testament
and do revoke all former wills and deeds of gift by me at any time heretofore made and do order these present to stand before as my last will and testament forever

Notes:
William Kempe married Elizabeth Egleston 30th Sept. 1694 at St. Lawrence, Isle of Thanet.
Their children:
George 1 Sep 1696; Elizabeth and Rebecca 28 Sep 1697 � all St. Laurence.
Henry and Mary Ane 9 Oct 1704; Richard 26 Oct 1702 � all at Ebenezer Independent Chapel, Ramsgate.
William Kemp was buried 8th Nov. 1729 at St. Laurence; Elizabeth Kemp, Widow, was buried there on 16th Feb. 1742.
