In the Name of God Amen
I Thomas Kemp of Leeds in the County of Kent Millwright being sick and weak in Body but of sound and perfect memory, praised be God, do this Eighteenth day of October in the Twenty Eight Year ofthe Reign of our sovereign Lord George the second by the grace of God of Great Britain Frances and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so Forth and in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and fifty five do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in Manner and form following That is to say
First and principally I recommend my Soul to almighty God that gave it and my Body in hopes of a joyfull Resurrection Through the Merrits of my Blessed Redeemer Jesus Christ I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the Discretion of my Executors hereinafter mentioned And as touching that Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose of as followeth

Imprimis I Give and Bequeath unto Margaret Kemp my Beloved Wife all that Messuage or Tenement with the appurtenances thereunto belonging situate lying and being in Iron Street in Hollingbourne in the County of Kent and now in the occupation of William Partridge During her Natural life

and after her Decease I Give and Bequeath the said Messuage with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto James Kemp and Thomas Kemp my two Sons to them and their heirs for ever Equally to be divided

Also I Give and Bequeath unto my said Wife the Interest of one Hundred pounds (for which I have [a] Bond for) During her life
and after her Decease I Give the said Sum of one hundred pounds unto my Son Thomas Kemp

All the rest residue and remainder of my Estate not herein before disposed of I Give unto my loving Wife During her life and after her Decease I Give the said Remainder unto my two Sons James and Thomas Kemp Equally to be divided

Lastly I hereby nominate and appoint Margaret Kemp my said wife and Thomas Kemp my Executors of this my last will and Testament and I do hereby revoke and make void all former Wills by me made by word of mouth or in writing Declaring and Confirming this to be my last

In Witness whereof I the said Thomas Kemp have to this my last Will and Testament containing one Sheet of paper set my Hand and Seal the day and year first above written

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Thomas Kemp as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us and in the presence of Each other

The before registered Will of Thomas Kemp deceased was proved the Eighteenth day of March 1756 before the Reverend Richard Leightonhouse Clerk Surrogate to the Worshipful Edward Simpson Doctor of Laws Official General to the Reverend the Archdeacon of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Thomas Kemp one of the Executors named in the said will being first sworn duly to perform the same, etc. Power reserved to the other Executor.

Thomas Kemp was married to Margaret West 17th November 1719 at St. St. Nicholas, Leeds, Kent.
Known children (all christened (C) at Leeds, Kent:
04-Aug 1720 C James
15-Dec 1723 C Elizabeth
11-Dec 1727 C Thomas
Thomas Kemp (the father) died and was buried at Leeds (Kent) on 31st October 1755.
His widow, Margaret Kemp, died and was buried 27th June 1776 at Leeds (Kent).
