I Give and bequeath unto my Son Thomas Kemp and my Daughters Elizabeth Tolley (?) and
Mary Morrison the sum of Fifty pounds apiece
And unto my Grand Daughters Ann Tolley Sarah Ann Squier Elizabeth Stone and Anna Christiana Williams the Sum of twenty pounds apiece
All which said Seven several Legacies I do hereby direct shall be paid within Six Months next after my decease
And Subject thereto and also to the Payment of my just debts funeral Expences and the Charges of Proving and Executing this my Will
and any thing incident thereto
I Give devise and bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah Williams Widow All those my three
Freehold Messuages Tenements or Dwelling houses with the Backsides Yards or Gardens and
Passage Way Ground and Appurts. [appurtenances] thereunto belonging which I purchased of
and from John Curling of Dover aforesaid Carpenter situate lying and being in Dover aforesaid
near to a certain Lane there called Gribear�s? Lane and which now or late were in the several
Tenures or Occupations of [blank] Ferrier, [blank] Mantle and [blank] Nethersole
Also all that my New Build Leasehold Messuage or Tenement with the Buildings Ground and
Appurtenances thereunto belonging situate in Snargate Street Lent? [left?] Side of the Pier in
Dover aforesaid and now in the several Occupations of me and John Mitchell or our Undertenants
And all and every other my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments
And also all and every my Goods Chattels Leases Monies Estate and Effects whatsoever and
wheresoever To hold to her my said Daughter Sarah Williams her Heirs Executors
Administrators ad Assigns to and for her and their own proper Use and Benefit
But in case my said Daughter Sarah Williams shall happen to die in my lifetime Then I Give Devise and Bequeath all and every my said Freehold and Leasehold Messuages or Tenements Lands Hereditaments and Premises and Estate and Effects / Subject as aforesaid / unto my said three Grand Daughters Sarah Ann Squier Elizabeth Stone and Anna Christiana Williams equally share and share alike as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants and to their several Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns
And I do hereby Nominate Constitute and Appoint my said Daughter Sarah Williams and my
friends Roger Squier and Phineas Kennett Executors of this my Will
And revoking all other wills by me at any time heretofore made I declare this only to be my last Will and Testament

The before Registered Will of Thomas Kemp the Elder deceased was proved the 30th day of May 1803 before the Reverend Joshua Dix Clerk Surrogate to the Right Honble. [Honourable] Sir William Scott Knight Doctor of Laws Commissary General of the City and Diocese of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath [of] Sarah Williams Widow the Daughter and one of the Executors named in the said Will She being first sworn well and truly to perform the same (Power being reserved to Roger Squier and Phineas Kennett The other Executors when they shall apply for the same).
Notes:
Thomas Kemp married Sarah Quested 31st October 1747 at St. Mary the Virgin, Dover and died
and was buried on 18th May 1803 at Sutton-by-Dover. His christening is not, currently, known
� nor was his age at death given.
Thomas and Sarah�s known children � all christened at St. James, Dover:
Sarah 19 Feb 1749; Elizabeth 13 Jan 1750; Thomas 7 Jan 1753; Mary 31 Oct 1756.
Sarah Kemp married firstly Thomas Squire (Squier) 30 Aug 1772 at St. James, Dover and
secondly Thomas Williams 20 Apr 1783 at St. Mary the Virgin, Dover.
Elizabeth Kemp married John Tollos or Tulles? 20 Aug 1772 at St. James, Dover
Mary Kemp married James Morrison 3 Mar 1793 at St. Mary the Virgin, Dover.
Thomas Kemp (Junior) died 22 Apr 1821 at River (near Dover), Kent aged 68.
The Granddaughters:
Sarah Ann Squier (Squire) was christened 15 Jun 1773 to Thomas and Sarah Squier at St. Mary the Virgin, Dover
Elizabeth Stone was born in 1776 and died, unmarried in 1856 in Dover.
Anna Christian Williams was christened 24 Oct 1787, d. of Thomas and Sarah at St. Mary the Virgin, Dover.
