I give and Bequeath unto my beloved Brothers William Jewhurst John Jewhurst and Richard Jewhurst the Legacy or sum of five pounds apiece.
Also I Give and Bequeath unto William Burgess, Samuel Burgess, Robert Burgess and
to Sarah the Wife of Richard Shorbridge my kinsfolks the like legacy or sum of five pounds apiece.
Also I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Robson my Mother�s sister the like legacy or sum of five pounds
which said right Legacies or Sums of Five pounds I will and order to be paid in twelve months from the time of my decease.
I also give and bequeath unto Henry Bean the Younger of Hawkinge in the County of Sussex one Silver Watch.
I also give and bequeath unto my brother in law Joseph Chapman of Hawkhurst aforesaid farmer the Legacy or Sum of Five pounds.
I also give and bequeath unto my well-beloved sister Sarah the wife of the said Joseph
Chapman and unto my sister Elizabeth wife of Jasper Winman of the same place all
my remaining Household Goods, Linen, Wearing Apparel, Silver Spoons and Gold
Rings or others to be equally divided between them share and share alike
and the part or share of my sister Elizabeth to remain in my Executor Executirix�s hands and to be paid
her in such proportions as her need and their judgement shall direct.
And if the said Elizabeth shall depart this life leaving any part thereof in my said Executor or
Executrix�s Hands it is my will and desire that the same should remain there to be
applied to the use and benefit of such of her Children as may survive her.
All the rest residue and remainder of my Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever not herebefore disposed of after payment of my just debts funeral expences legacies above mentioned probate of this my Will and all expences attending the execution thereof from and immediately after my decease shall be consolidated into one sum and the same divided into two equal parts one part or half part thereof to be divided between my said sisters Sarah Chapman and Elizabeth Winman and the interest arising therefrom to be paid equally between them during their natural lives and after their decease I give and bequeath their and each of their said shares amongst such of their children as shall be then living share and share alike to hold to them and their heirs and assigns for ever.
But if it should happen any child or children of my said sisters should at the time of their death be under the age of twenty-one years then and in such case the part or share of such child or children to remain in my executors hands until they shall attain the full age of twenty-one years.
And the other moiety or half part thereof is to be divided into six equal shares as below:
/that is to say / to and amongst my brothers William Kemp, Jude Kemp, Henry Kemp,
George Kemp and Thomas Kemp and to my sister Mary the wife of Henry Bean of
Hastings aforesaid and to their representatives share and share alike but if my brother
Jude Kemp should happen to die and depart this life before men and leave no child or
children then my will and mind is that the part or share which would have been his had
he survived me shall be equally divided amongst the five remaining legatees.
And I nominate and constitute and appoint my said brother-in-law Joseph Chapman and the said Sarah his wife joint Executor and Executrix of this my Will hereby revoking and making void all former or others heretofore made and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament written on two sheets of paper to the first sheet thereof I have set my hand and to this last sheet my hand and seal this first day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and two.

and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereon subscribed
our names as witnesses in the presence of the testatrix and of each other the word
�divided� in the seventh line of this sheet from the bottom being first interlined.

The before registered will of Mary Kemp deceased was proved the twenty-fourth day of June 1808 before the Right Honourable Sir William Scott Knight Doctor of Laws Official General to the Reverend the Archdeacon of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Joseph Chapman one of the Executors named in the said will he being first sworn duly to perform the same power reserved to Sarah Chapman his wife the other Executor when she shall apply for the same by commission
