In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Kemsley of the Parish of Gillingham in the County of Kent Turner being in perfect health & of sound mind do this tenth day of July in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty eight do make & ordain this my last Will & Testament That is to say
Principally & first of all I give & recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it & my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian Burial
And as touching my worldly Estates

I give & devise unto my dear & beloved Wife Mary two Cottages with Household Furniture known by the name of Scrafners(?) Cottages in the Parish of Gillingham in the County of Kent also one House No 9 with the Yard & Garden situated at Peppercroft St Gravesend in the Parish of Milton in the said County My said Wife Mary to have & to hold during the term of her natural life during which time she shall not sell nor mortgage any part thereof

but at her decease the whole of my Property to be equally divided amongst my natural Children Namely Amelia Palmer Louisa Duck Elizabeth Pott & Sarah Crisfield & their heirs
I also give & devise to my four daughters the rent arising from the House No 10 situated at Peppercroft St Gravesend in the Parish of Milton in the County of Kent

I also give & bequeath to my Brother John Kemsley all my Wearing Apparel together with my Watch In consideration of the love I bear to him
I also desire that all my Tools Turning Lathe Stock in Trade be sold at my death & my Funeral & Testamentary expences be paid from the amount together with all debts & the remainder (if any)be equally divided between my beloved Wife & four Daughters so that each may have an equal part

And I hereby appoint my said Wife Mary & my Nephew Robert Kemsley Executors of this my Will who I desire shall have the sum of five pounds each

In Witness whereof I the said Robert Kemsley have to this my last Will & Testament contained in one sheet of paper set my hand & seal on the day first above mentioned Thomas Kemsley
